I purchased Mac OSX Lion from Apple store which came with Facetime, I can't login to FaceTime, it shows an error, "can't signin. Plz check your network connection and try again". Can anyone help ?

Also does not work for 10.7.1 Lion. Also tried:
-checking date/time
-verifying appleID (also email address)
-I am not behind a firewall, so there are no ports to open
- re-license DHCP
- reset AppleID password, none of these have worked.
Note I also cannot receive incoming facetime invitations. But again, there is no firewall active on my Verizon DLS modem or Apple Extreme Base Station.
Any other suggestions?
Doesn't work for me on iMac Lion 10.7.1 - still failing email verification.
hi...i bought my iphone 4 here in middle east and they told that facetime doesnt work here and apple disabled the facetime here, can i put facetime option here on my phone by myself?
facetime version 0.9 does not sign in when I use my apple id - on snow leopard 10.6.8. It seems to be stuck in an infinite loop trying to sign in but neither fails nor succeeds. When I searched on apple's website for an upgrade, I found a facetime app which costs money. Can anyone tell me what the issue is?

After a couple of restarts (and an overnight rest!) FaceTime v1.1 is now functioning again on Lion 10.7.1 with the DNS set to 8.8.8.8 🙂
Didn't work for me on OSX 10.6.8 and FaceTime 1.0.8, even after adding the 8.8.8.8 to the DNS addresses.
The current version of Lion is 10.7.1 so update to that by clicking on the 'Apple' icon and then Software Update. Then try and add 8.8.8.8 to the DNS address.

Rory, I don't have Lion (yet); I still have Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
Correction on the FaceTime version: it's actually v1.0.2(166)
yeah setting dns to 8.8.8.8 allowed me to connect using snow leopard 10.6.4. Has anyone compared quality of video with skype?

Well Mike, have you tried a new account, internet connection, restarting computer etc.??? If not i dont know! 😟
Tried all of them; rebooted the iMac, re-signed in with my Apple ID & p/w, still nothing.
Still not getting the verification email on my email client.
