Is anyone able to use Unsanity haxies with Lion?

I really like Unsanity's WindowShade X and Labels X haxies which I began using with Tiger and also installed last December on a Snow Leopard machine. I have not had any trouble with them on either system. Checking the Internet, I can't find any info about whether or not they work in Lion, which I have not yet upgraded to. Anyone else dealing with or interested in this issue?

By far and away the biggest problem is that there is no keyboard shortcut for find-by-file-name, and you have to navigate a dropdown menu. This shortcut disappeared in the transition from 9.2 to 10.0 and did not come back till 10.4.

cmd-ctrl-f

Indeed, cmd-f gives you a find by file name dialog box. They brought it back a bit quicker this time, it only took from 10.8.0 to 10.8.2. Last time it was 10.0 to 10.4 before it came back.

I am glad that this Insanity thread is dead. I stayed with it because of how bitter some people on a thousand buck computer can get over the loss of ten bucks on a haxie or two.

As for Windowmizer: it is not quite fast enough for my likeing. A bigger problem is that when you minimize a Word document, say, and then use cmd-` to rotate through the open documents, it does not bring up the minimized window because it is 'owned' by Windomizer, not word. No way round that that I can see.

Bye-bye for now.

I am not unhappy with Windowmizer. It beats the alternative which apparently is NO MORE.Did you try writing the developer about what you would like to see improved? One more thing, I don't think it was about the $10. It was about taking money and not keeping a promise or even communicating with their followers. It just wasnit the right way to carry on.

Unsanity is dead. The website no longer loads.

The twitter page has had no response in 2 years.

While it lasted, their Haxies allowed users to customize their's Mac's interface. They were great customizations.

Unfortunately, with technological progress, their software became more unstable, causing headaches for other developers including Apple. Stabilizing one's system meant removing their APE hack and their Haxies.

In tech technology world, things move very quickly. Unsanity's developers simply could not keep up with the changes. Their software's last compatible operating system was Mac OS X 10.6. We are now at Mac OS X 10.9.

It was good while it lasted. They are now just a part of history. They even have a Wikipedia page.

I am VERY happy with Windomizer. I don't know how to live without it. All those months and months without the haxie was miserable and of course their customer service was worse than imagainable. Anywy the developer of Windomizer is VERY responsive and friendly and I would recommend this to anyone! Life is much easier with less windows in one's way! 🙂

I have to respectfully disagree with you. I have contacted the windomizer developer on several occasions and always gotten a reply back. Unfortunatly he is not the only one that charges for upgrades. windowshades did that as well and the last time I paid for upgrade they stopped making and/or supporting the product and none of us got our money back. If the upgrades are to close together and are minor fixes then I don't think we should be charged or at least charged a lot of money, but I am very happy with this windomizer and am glad that the developer/owner is keeping up with the Apple upgrades!!

I too like Windomizer, and don't think the $4.50 upgrade charge was a hardship so it works with Mavericks. I just wish it were also possible to add the ability to shrink it to a tiny window like Unsanity did, transparent, etc. I like to use my windows in different ways, and put them aside in different ways, as I have a lot filling this 27" screen.

What! You are on Mavericks and still havn't got round to keeping your files in the "all my files" **** hole. 🙂😁

I was happily on SnowLeopart until last monday when the last of the glorious mbp's got stolen. I'm crying in my diet coke... it had a matt screen, two SSDs, a thunderbolt port and a quad processor, and could still run SnowLeopard. It was available for a fleeting moment in Feb 11 and I'll never find another one.

A serious question: can anyone reassure me that the glossy retina screen is not as bad as a glossy iMac screen?

Is anyone able to use Unsanity haxies with Lion?
