AirDrop Invalid Apple ID

I am trying to use AirDrop between two of my Macs over wifi. I can see the other Mac clear as day, but when I drop the file onto the user circle I get the error, "The Apple ID certificate for "DLR2" is invalid. The transfer has been canceled."

Any suggestion? Thank you.

I'm used to malfunctioning things Apple comes up with.

FaceTime > Very unreliable especially on the Mac

iChat > Very unreliable

iCloud > Very unreliable

It's driving me insane.
And now after AirDrop has been working just fine since Lion came out, it eventually stopped working?
Come on, Apple, that really *****.

We pay a lot of money for your products, MAKE THEM WORK!!!

What worked for me is the following: Go to System Preferences > iCloud and click "Sign Out". Then you sign back in to your iCloud account as if for the first time again.

It will remove all of your locally stored iCloud information, but if you have everything already synced and sitting in the iCloud, this shouldn't present a problem. Perhaps this is 'alternative' solution is useful.

You need to do this for every mac you're using Airdrop with:

Open up Terminal (ie using spotlight) and copy paste this:

defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser BrowseAllInterfaces 1

then this:

killall Finder

If this doesn't fix Airdrop, try deleting your Apple ID association with your user as stated earlier in this thread. To do this go to:

Go to System Preferences> Users & Groups, Delete the Apple ID and then reinsert again on both the systems.

Good luck!

I can confirm that psr24's solution worked for me as well.

I have an iMac (mid 2010) and a Macbook Pro (early 2008) both have 2 apple ID's for my user.

I deleted both from both machines, added the first ID to one machine, then the second machine. Then I added the second ID to the first machine then the second machine. I finally force quit finder (relaunch) on both machines and then it worked just fine. Thanks!
