Apple ID password reset doesn't arrive

I am trying to recover the password on my (other) Apple ID which is an @gmail.com address. When I click "Recover password" the password never arrives in my inbox. Other emails from Apple arrive when doing the same thing on my other account.

I haven't used this ID for a long time but need to access it as my iPhone still has some Apps associated with it. Is anyone from Apple available to help?

It is possible but even if it were that doesn't help me recover the account information sadly. I also attempted a recovery by question but it didn't recognise by date of birth (that means a few years ago I either arrogantly didn't set it or something HAS gone wrong.) I am hoping Apple will be able to issue the recovery to the email address of the ID (not the address inside).

Has anyone been able to resolve this? I'm trying to creat a new Apple ID using a Gmail address. That Gmail address was used as an alternate on another Apple ID but I've deleted it from that account (so I wouldn't get the "this email address is already associated with another..." message). But the Gmail address is still tied up somewhere and I'm unable to use it to set up a new Apple ID.

Like the previous posts in this thread, none of the password reset options work. My problem could have more to do with the fact that the address was never used as an actual Apple ID, but as an alternate email address on a different ID.

I have the same problem.

When I try to create an Apple ID it tells me there is an existing account with that email.

When I try to reset the password, the reset email never arrives. Searching the Apple site for a support link appears to create an Infinite Loop, there does not appear to be any way to ask Apple how to resolve this. Apple, please help!

I recently fixed this myself as I too, had the same problem. Mine didn't tell me it was associated to another ID however, I guessed this might be the case.

To fix this problem you will need to log in to your old Apple ID at the https://appleid.apple.com/ URL and either remove or change the email address.

Then log in to your desired Apple ID and click verify again and you will receive the email. The problem is that although your address is already verified it is against your other account, but the code at Apple must have a bug in this code whereby it doesn't recognise this particular scenario.

Good luck.

I have a similar but not the same problem.

1. I register my new appleid using my gmail address

2. I received the verify email. I clicked on the verify link but could not logon.

3. When i click again, The website says that the email has already been verified.

4. Password reset email never arrives

6. Dob not recognized!!!

7. Find userid says appleid does not exist!!!

8. trying to create it again it says the ID already exists!!!

This is using the appleid.apple.com site

I know my birthday is correct!!!

Maybe since I could never login and then resetting the password it got it messed up.

Thanks.

My scenario is a little different, so I hope someone can help. I found my Apple ID, it was an old email adress that is no longer valid since Comcast bought Roadrunner here in Houston. I reset my password, THOUGHT I reset my email from @houston.rr.com to @comcast.net and waited for an email verification. Now I think I have too many attempts to login/recover. I was able to change my password and in attempting to update my email address, I'm locked out.

If I select "send email verification", it must be going to old email (@houston.rr.com) although I put my current email in. There is no more forwarding from houston > comcast, so I will never get it. I try using both emails as the ID, then it says "authentication information provided does not match our records." Well it did the first time.

I seem completely locked out. Apple now cant verify my ID or me using my birthdate or favorite sports questions. I'm stuck. All the answers above assume you have your ID, your email is current and you can login to that account, and/or Apple accepts very birthday verification and other security questions.

Anyone solved this? I have 600 songs on iTunes that I need an ID to re-install and recover. Thanks for reading and offering a solution if you can. jim

Try emptying your browser's cache and restart it. Perhaps even restart your computer for kicks. Wait a few hours before trying anything new. If I remember correctly, and bear with me this is from memory, the verification email has a statement in it that if you did not initiate the change not to worry and not to respond because if the verification does not occur the change will not be permanent and will revert back.

Go slow and be patient. Just change one thing at a time. Since you know that you need to receive a verification try changing the primary email address first

Similar problem here. Kept trying to reset password for new Apple IDs I had established and I couldn't seem to get DOB right on either of them. Finally realized (after scanning this blog...thanks!) that I had used them as Alternate Email Address on my first Apple ID. Logged onto original ID and deleted all Alternate email addresses. This then allowed me to properly set up the new IDs from scratch (which apparently I had not done which is why I couldn't get DOB correct).

I followed the chain of messages above trying to find a solution. I have the same problem. I'm syncing my iPhone 5 to iTunes and keep getting messages about all the content that will not sync because "not authorized." So I try to login to my Apple ID

- password is wrong

- try reset password

- chose "send email" but no email arrives (I even check 'junk' folder to be sure)

- go back to reset password and try "Answer security questions"

- says my DoB is wrong (like many have stated above, it's hard to forget our DoB)

So what is the solution? Re-purchase all the content that won't sync?
