Apple ID password reset doesn't arrive

I am trying to recover the password on my (other) Apple ID which is an @gmail.com address. When I click "Recover password" the password never arrives in my inbox. Other emails from Apple arrive when doing the same thing on my other account.

I haven't used this ID for a long time but need to access it as my iPhone still has some Apps associated with it. Is anyone from Apple available to help?

I have same issue for an account I created for my wife's ipad. I can't get password email When I request ID it doesn 't accept the name and email combination but when I try and create user with that email it says account exists. I have gone through this with two account names and neither works and neither can be reset. This is so frustrating as it has been going on for months. We cant use facetime coz we can't login.

I have the same problem. No email arrives and does not recognise my DOB. I had to set up an alternative apple id in the end but now cannot authorise my old music on my new mac. I went to the apple store but they could not help. They sent an email to apple support for me but I got a rubbish response from apple saying that they were unable to help me with my problem "at present". My original id was really old and was my name. The guy at the apple store was really impressed with my id and said that apple were trying to get rid of such id's. Really hacked off. Can't listen to music I have paid for.

This was EXACTLY what I needed. For over 4 months my iPad was not backing up to iCloud and it said my password was wrong, but every time I tried to reset it online, I never received the email and it told me my DOB was wrong.

Soooooo it turns out that I got my iPad last July and created ONE Apple ID with Email (A), and when I got my new MacBook four months ago, I created a different Apple ID that had Email (A) as a secondary email. All I had to do was log into the Apple ID #2, remove the secondary email address, go back to the original Apple ID and have the email sent again, and PRESTO! It came through! Once I could get in, I discovered that the month and day of my DOB were correct, but the year was showing "-1" instead of a real year for some reason.

Thank you so so much. I can't believe I finally got it all worked out.

I just spent about 25 minutes on the phone with Apple Care. It required a "second level" support person with the ability to reset my account. After going back and forth explaining that I was "stuck" I had to verify my identity with the credit card associated with my iTunes/Apple Store account. Once I did that, she was able to reset my security questions and my password (I had to give her the "support PIN" in order to do so).

Note that the security questions are CaSe SenSItiVE and also sensitive to punctuation. So if you originally said "Mrs. Jones" as your first teacher and then tried to answer with "mrs jones" it will not work.

Lesson learned: Sometimes it is faster and easier to just pick up the phone and talk to someone instead of browsing internet forums for hours. 😀
