lion mail exchange message moving issues

there are dozens of issues with Lion, it feels so unstable, freezes constantly, essentially crashes when time machine boots up, on and on and on.... this is the first time i've ever been genuinely dissapointed in a mac OS full update, just awful

but the biggest issue for me right now is that i use mail.app for my work email form an exchange server, and i'm running into several instances where deleting or moving messages from my inbox simply doesn't take hold, and after a few minutes the messages miraculously reappear in my inbox, not where i put them

this does not happen to every single message, and it does not happen all of the time, it seems to go in spurts, and typcially requires a restart (as so many other issues have with Lion)

i'm not really looking for a fix, because i'm guessing there is no user-level fix for it, i'm just hoping that this gets passed along to the powers that be so it's resolved in the first update to Lion

anyone else having similar issues, whether with exchange accounts or otherwise?

I tried this Fox Lima, and I still get the same problem; the exchange mailbox stops updating and in the activity window, the changing flags line gets stuck.

I think Apple should have fixed this by now. The problem arrrived with OSX Lion. I'd never had a similar problem using Mac mail with exchange before. Although intermittent, it's easily repeatable, so should be easy to cure.

Maybe we'll have to wait until the next version of OSX?

I am experiencing the same problem - moving and deleting messages don't "take". Also Mail won't quit when you tell it to; I have to force quit.

My problem is on two different exchange accounts. I've tried the following

-Repairing Permissions

-Verifying Disk

-Onyx Fixes including resetting the Mail index and resetting launch permissions

-Disk Warrior Permission Repair

-Deleting the exchange accounts and recreating them

-Deleting the envelope index in the Library/Mail/V2/MailData folder

-Turning off Junk Filter and rules

None of these have worked for me.

In addition I see a spinning gear constantly next to the exchange accounts.

It seems to me something must have gotten corrupted as a few others have suggested because I've been using mail for over a month (switched from Outlook 2011) and this behavior only started two days ago.

Has anyone tried re-installing Lion?

If anyone has any other ideas please holler.

I've upgraded to Mountain Lion and these problems have gone away. Yay!

I have what I assume is a similar issue. Sometimes (and only sometimes) when I delete an email on my office computer (Win XP/Outlook 2007) or on my iphone, the message is not deleted from my mail inbox and won't let me delete it, or if it does, it then reappears in the inbox. Sometimes it seems to resolve itself. Restatrting mail does not usually fix it, tho clicking mailbox>rebuild while in inbox does seem to fix it. I continue to have this issue sporadically, even after upgrading mountain lion.

Mountain Lion Upgrade has not fixed this problem for me.

It did for me. Installed Mountain Lion about 2 weeks ago and not one 'changing flags' incident since.
