Lion Safari 5.1: pdf file is not opening inside the iFrame

"When trying to open the pdf file inside the iFrame, it is opening outside the iFrame in Preview Application and leaving behind the iFrame as blank . Earlier with Safari 5.0.5 version this problem was not coming and pdf was opening properly inside iFrame".

When I am creating a sample html file with below code, the pdf is opening out side the iFrame.

<iframe height="900" width="100%" src="TestPDF.pdf" id="displayPDF"/>

Can any one please help me out to resolve this issue and open the pdf file inside the iFrame with latest Lion Safari 5.1

So this still hasn't been adressed since July 27th? It is a real issue, as a web developer for a company that presents legal documents we are running into the same problem. I'm now forced to tell the Mac users to use chrome as it works as intended without the additional confusion of installing the acrobat reader plugin. Seems to have something to do with the content-type content-length and encoding for frames that cause it to fork off into preview instead of displaying inline.

After weeks of unsuccessful attempts at finding answers to variations on the same theme. I found some answers: I went to Apple's support site with a bit of irony and remembered that the right click had saved me before. In Safari 5.1.1 and Lion 7.2, I left clicked on a video, then right clicked on the next window and selected Open link ... And the video started to play, yes it finally did. The same thing worked with Google Chrome.

Then I did the same thing with IPhone and iPod Manuals and it also worked on both navigators and I was at last able to download them and save them on my HD.

The difference with the manuals was that Adobe Reader did its job with Safari, opened up and opened the manuals. I don't know if it had any impact in Safari,but I had installed «Click to flash» which now gives me some options on the rignt click. Google Chrome did the whole work without Adobe Reader getting involved.

After so much time spent at it and such easy solutions, I don't understand that Apple has not come up with any answers yet and Adobe keeps saying that the answer is to revert to Snow Leopord and Safari 5.0?

Hope it saves you time and effort. Bonne chance!
