Been really missing this function for a few months. If anyone has this similar problem, follow these instructions and you should be able to use your media keys again. Not sure why Apple couldn't fix this, they even had an update that was supposed to fix this problem but it did not really do anything.

This solution worked for my K340 keyboard. I can't believe Apple can't implement such a simple fix. All my keys are working from play to mute. Thanks so much for the fix.

Unfortunately iTunes 10.5 didn't work for me. I have the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 v1. Anyone have any recommended fixes for this?

iTunesControl works with iTunes 10.5 for me, i'm using a Logitech G19 keyboard. The only thing i had to do since the update from iTunes 10.4 was go into ITC and re-input the media keys via the settings, as you need to do originally. Took 30 seconds, and now i can use iTunes like i want again.

im using a logitech wave keyboard, all i had to do was go into keyboard and mouse settings in the system tray(this is the logitech utility that came with my keyboard) go toe keyboard settings and select the media player hotkey. select itunes as your media player(if its already selected reselect it) and click apply at the bottom. my media keys worked instantly afterwards.

I have this same issue with this keyboard. another piece of software isn't an issue. apple should be content with keyboard shortcuts and stop messing around with it!

This worked fine for my DELL keyboard as well.

In my case the file was located at C:\Program Files\SetPointP\players.ini.

My Itunes is now updated to 10.5.0.142 and the media keys work again. I have an Acer keyboard. Thanks Itunes for fixing what you broke 2 versions ago 😁.
