Where are the minimized window views in mission control?

hi guys,

installed lion, everything seems ok. i like the speed and slickness but am annoyed by the finder sidebar and the mail and safari buttons beeing completely grey that you always have to check twice which button is which...

...but my question is: under snow leopard i could see which windows were still open but minimized in the dock under expose. where did this function go in lion????

thanks,

j.

BLAngel,

You can select a desktop wiondow you want a program to only appear or if you want that program to appear on all the desktops. Just right click/secondard click on the app when you are in the desk top window you want to use and select, "Options -> This Desktop". The app will only open in that desktop window just like it did with spaces.

Also if you use your apps in the "full screen" mode then they will always have their own desktop window.

Now you can have multiple apps open in multiple desktop windows and switch between them like you were working with multiple computers at once.

Yes this new Mission Control veiw of windows is very annoying. Especially if you have multiple windows, that look similar for the same App. Even spreading them out leaves them overlapping. I've even had instances where 3 or 4 windows are so overlapped that you can't even see the title bar. Select a window and you are not guaranteed to get that window.

I totally understand your pain about expose' in Lion, I too miss that feature and the way it worked in SL. Lion has removed that feature of see which apps are still runnng but minimumized. The new feature lets you see only the windows that are minimumized for that one app that is being used. Also will show recently opened documents if you are using iWorks. I hope they bring that feature back, expose' was one of the best features in SL.😟

thank you people, but lion made me go back to snow leopard. as i said i like lion's speed but it's not running proper so far. got several times logged out when i woke up my mbp from sleep and all the documents i was working on were lost. so this missing expose thing is just the tip but not really something you can call ease of use compared with what apple accomplished in snow leopard.

...i will eventually come back to a pretty much more 'mature' lion.
