Sometimes while talking on a call, the screen goes black. I can continue the conversation, but can't hang up or access anything on the screen. Tapping on the screen, or the button is uneffective. I just have to wait till it recovers, which can take a minute or two, or turn the phone off. Anybody else experience this?
iPhone 3GS, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Nobody, I was trying to correct my original post but auto correct reigned again!
Most of the time this symptom is caused by a case that blocks light from getting to the proximity sensor. So the first troubleshooting step is to remove the case.
I tried factory resetting my phone in hopes that it would fix this problem but it didn't...
I have same problem but dont have a fix, as of yet
Where is proximity sensor, just for my education?
It doesn't do anything but take you out of the phone call area and if you try to touch the green header to get back in to the phone call it's unresp
Do you have a screen protector on? That was my problem, but since taking it off, I haven't had a problem since...
