wifi drops on macbook air 2011

When my Macbook Air awakens from sleep I lose my WiFi connection. I have to restart the machine as well as the WiFi node. What also appears really weird is that my smartphone cannot access the WiFi node when this occurs. Any ideas?

I finally took my macbook air into an Apple store and the tech at the genius bar did some diagnostics, reset some things and after about 20 minutes or so he was done. It has worked fine ever since, only needs to be directed to the WiFi occasionally, not very often at all. I don't know what he did but it worked. I recommend taking your air in and having them reset it.

I have just had a nightmare of an evening sorting this out.

I have a brand new macbook air and a bt home hub V3.0 and a Samsung SCX 3205W wireless enabled printer also a windows laptop.

I would run diagnostics and briefly get a connection to my other devices and then it would drop.

The windows laptop remained connected and can use the wireless printer.

The solution was to go to the home hub admin go to the settings page and where it says wireless channel change it from automatic to channel 1.

Hope this helps someone or someone at Apple can look into it.

My wi-fi drops constantly on my MacBook Air 2011. It is like the wifi just goes to sleep or something. It happens constantly. The wi-fi is being shared from my mac pro. In bootcamp the internet 100% works ALL the time. It is super difficult to understand how in OS/X the internet drops constantly but the same hardware in windows with the same wi-fi from the mac pro works PERFECT on windows. ... ... it will randomly disconnet while I am using it. And I can rejoin the network right away.... but it is super brutal annoying.
