So I've done all these things you guys have suggested and I still am not able to access the store. I also am not able to get safari to work at all. It just keeps running some background file in task manager that hogs my CPU usage. I've unistalled and the winsock thing with no luck, any other ideas out there?
Windows Home Premium 64-bit. Thanks!
Last night I spent 3hrs to uninstall all Apple related softwares, clear all Apple software folders, restarted my pc then reinstall iTunes & Quicktime...finally, I can access iTunes store, sync and back up my iPhone and iPad.😁 I don't know why when new version released, why Apple didn't mention that we have to uninstall all Apple softwares and reinstall the latest version?😕
Glad that my solution helped some of you. I really wish I knew how to help the rest of you with this issue. I know it's extremely frustrating and Apple isn't lifting a finger to help. My only suggestion is to keep searching the forums and maybe as a last resort call Apple tech support. (That last bit almost made me laugh). Seriously, though, hope you find a solution. Good luck.
I've been struggling with same problem for a week now I even uninstalled itunes once but it wasn't till I removed all apple programs and then reinstalled them that the problem was fixed so thank you for the advice.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! The fix that MTG68 offers is the PERFECT fix for this problem! I cannot tell you how many times I unloaded all of the Apple software (iTunes, MobileMe, Bonjour, ect) to fix this problem and NOTHING worked. I tried this solution as a 'last ditch" effort and it worked perfectly! I can now see the iTunes store again (whew!), I can backup my iphone 4 again (that was SO frustrating!) and my MobileMe now works again with my Outlook 2010! THANK YOU again for this solution!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MTG68 - Many thanks - after spending all this afternoon re-installing, adjusting firewalls etc, this simple fix worked !
Would this be the same process for windows xp? I have tried the whole song and dance of un-installing and installing and have had no luck. I started having this problem once I installed itunes 10.5 and cannot do anything at all with syncing any of my devices and connecting the itunes store. Please HELP!
This worked perfectly. I've spent three days now trying to get this fixed. Thanks!
Worked on my XP laptop! I didn't run the cmd propt as a"administrator" though, just my default profile, and it worked like a charm. Thanks for the great advice MTG68. So glad I don't have to waste anymore of my life obsessing over this dumb problem.
🙂
me too! nothing works.. its still not loading my in 64bit pc... shld i change my iphone or dump my acer desk top! nvr will try to buy a 64bit pc ever..
I had the same problem on my on my windows 7 64 bit version with itunes 10.5. After waiting forever on the phone with APPLE ITUNES support which was a waste of time I followed the directions on this feedback forum and it brought my itunes back to normal. To think I spent weeks trying to figure this problem. When in doubt GOOGLE your problem. A BIG THANK YOU TO USER: "LOCARB". By the way whilst the APPLE technician was talking to me i accidentally said "****" on the phone cause i was suprised of how easy the resolution was that they could not provide and he advised me cause i swore he had to terminate the call. Complete incompetence.. another justification for a lack of education...
