DON'T UPDATE TO LION!

I couldn't be more unsatisfied with OS X Lion. First, problems with Safari (and sometimes I got to restart because it has some problem with Youtube), problems with Finder, my network it's completely deconfigured in comparation with my old Snow Leopard, and now the sound has gone with NO reasons. I hear the sound of the volume going up and down, but can't play Youtube and even iTunes! With all the respect, I thought Apple was different from Microsoft, but now that become this big, feels like thinks the same way.

DO NOT UPDATE TO LION! Don't waste your money with a software that have a lot of issues to get fixed.

My install did go right, I never said it didn't. The problems are with stability and performance issues as compared to Snow Leopard on the three Macs that I upgraded.

I really want to make this clear, I am not calling you stupid or attacking you because your comment doesn't accurately reflect anything I've said, but you might want to work on your reading comprehension.

You really are a rude man/woman

What HOMEWORK ???

I never saw anything but a 50 page EULA agreement I couldn't even read or understand.

I didn't see any release notes, warnings, or instructions.

LION was a totally leap of faith.

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of features I like about lion, but nobody told me about the Recovery partition.

I have to agree with some of this. There are many changes to the system and UI that I, even as an extremely advanced user, am still attempting to learn without much help from Apple. The Mac Help Center holds great promise, but so far doesn't really deliver. For example, if you search it for "recovery partition," you only get hits related to Time Machine. I had to search Mac-related web sites to learn how to access Versions.

I can't fault Apple for adopting the politically correct posture that printed documentation is somehow "wasteful." But come on, how about a PDF manual or something?

I take it you didn't actually read the comments that was in response to.

Capaho,

please explain a couple things to me.

1. If your install didn't go wrong, why are you having troubles?

2. How was my response to you offensive? I simply clarified ahead of time that I wasn't trying to attack you since it is impossible to convery sincere, condescending, or even genuinely helpful tones over text. I didn't ever say you were dumb or that the problems you are having are your fault. But you are claiming that an entire OS (that MANY people have had great success with) is to blame for your problems?

I guess if your install went right and Lion is the piece you say it is, then I should uninstall my OS and revert to SL, right? But perhaps I am not comprehending what I read right...

I have to say that I will be going back to snow leopard. Lion has taken many options away. It is less customizable now. Chrome will probably get with the program soon enough but it is not compatible with the new finger pad controls. I have the biggest problem with Finder and Expose.

You cannot customize which apps you want to go in your desktop of choice; especially if they were already set in Snow Leopard. It is unchangeable. It is also very inconsistent and seems to have a mind of its own on where to put your apps into a desktop. It changes every time. A big BOO! They also made Expose linear so if I want to go to desktop 4 I have to do three swipes to get there vs. and up or down option. Boo!

Finder is also a problem. You cannot go back with the swipe of the fingers. Boo! You cannot zoom into images that you have in files. Boo!

iCal crashes about every 20 minutes. Boo!

You cannot go back to Snow Leopard, by using Time Machine as your back up. Ironically you cannot go back in time! BOO! So I have to do a manual back up before I can go back to Snow Leopard.

It seems that Apple hired the same dumb dumbs that designed Vista. The first Lion meeting must have started with. If we were to take a really good OS and take a bunch of options away, make it less efficient, less customizable and more buggy how can we do it? Hire the Vista programers and call the software LION!.

Please I would love to hear others thoughts on the matters I have posted. Thanks and I'm sorry.

So how long do I have to wait before all my Lion installations stop working properly and start to act like yours?
