Motion 5 and Final Cut Express

Hello.

I use Final Cut Express (latest version). I want to learn to use Motion 5, but before I purchase it I need to know if it will work with Final Cut Express. Will video files created Motion 5 work with Final Cut Express? Can clips exported from FCE be imported into Motion 5? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks. When I try this, it doesn't work because a newer version is already installed. Maybe it is part of the current Appstore download for Motion. In any case, the Appstore does not report any necessary updates, so I assume I have all I need. Remains the problem of MOV's, created by FCE4 and not accepted by Motion.

The codec download was a longshot to begin with. There is no fundamental incompatibility between files output by FCE and Motion. Either there is something odd about the file or something specific to your system.

If you post a screen shot of the Quick Time Inspector hud of one of your mov files perhaps someone will spot something.
