How do I Rebuild Corrupt Icons?

I upgraded to Lion and my Trash icon in the dock is corrupted. The icon will fix itself if I drag something to the trash and then remove the same item from the trash. While I'm entertained by the idea of putting video corruption in the trash, it looks like boiled ****.User uploaded file

Repair problems with incorrect icons in OS X


Rebuild LaunchServices Database


Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder. Copy & paste:


/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user



Return and let the process run to completion, it will put you back out at the prompt.
