Zippity-Do-Dah!!! Word of the day is working again. My first word after the Great-Word -Void was "orbicular"
many thanks to the folks who got this great screen saver working again,
Cheers to you!
Yep, it's confirmed! Cheers for the Apple Folks!
well bless my soul for mac came through word of day is working thank you and all who were responsible it might seem strange but i loved that app beerss all round keep going your smashing them
Woohoo - it's back! I love this screensaver!🙂
Now does anybody have a clue how this was fixed? (I very happy it has been fixed) The Thunderbold update probably has nothing to do with it since I don't have that piece of software installed. But I do confirm 'Word of the Day' screensaver working again. Odd if not very strange... Are we receiving silent updates to Mac OS X?
I had the same after the latest Lion upgrade.. bug?? It seems that the only screensavers now available are Flurry and Computer Name..
I just discovered this this morning, too. Since the latest update (10.7.3), Flurry and Computer Name are the only two appearing in the list. However, if I go to to System>Library>Screen Savers, I can see all of the other screensavers. It appears, though, that Apple may have suddenly killed its Quartz Composer savers (.qtz). The Flurry saver has a .saver extension.
Very Strange.
Do you know how can I get them back to work?
Thanks,
a.
I wish I did. I've started to notice a few more anomalies since the 10.7.3 upgrade. For example, my login picture has suddently changed as well.
This happens off and on for me. However, on your suggestion I went looking for Word of the Day.qtz.
A spotlight search: no results.
Going directly to the System -> Library -> Screen Savers folder. It's completely empty. This, despite the fact that I'm currently able to use the Flurry screen saver.
Maybe it's only periodically empty when this bug is occuring, but it would explain why this keeps happening if they didn't correctly set up the OS to use their own screen savers.
Ridiculous.
