There is a trick to reset the winsock. Once reset in the Command Prompt, reboot immediately or it won't work.
As I stated in my original post - I did the reboot

Windows 7 users.......type cmd and then right click on icon and select Run as Administrator, then type the netsh winsock reset. All works after reboot.
