Is intego's virusBarrier X6 a problem with lion?

I have been having a number of problems with lion the only kexts I have are associated with intego's VirusBarrier X6. Has anyone noticed problems that are associated with VB X6? Anyone remove it and see improvement? Anyone do a clean install then install it and have a problem?

MBP, Mac OS X (10.7), 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB

Three days ago I did my weekly update of my VirusBarrier software, since when my iPad has refused to talk to my iMac (10.6.8). So far I have spent seven hours trying to fix this problem. It's a good thing I live in Australia, because at the moment I'd like to go around to VirusBarrier's place with my cricket bat, and do them some serious damage. I'd also like to dig up Steve Jobs, and do him some serious damage too, because Apple refuses to provide a clear explanation (at least, one I can find in seven hours of searching on the internet) of what I have to do to make my iPad talk to my iMac. Here's a hint, Apple. Most of your customers don't have a degree in computer science, and wouldn't know a TCP/IP from a DNS, and have no interest in knowing that.

This thread is almost two years old and seems to be discussing issues only vaguely associated with your particular problem, so my first recommendation would be to start a new thread.

Next, I'm wondering why you feel a need to use VirusBarrier at all. Some users do need extra protection but most will not as long as they keep their OS X fully up-to-date and don't ignore the warnings it provides.

It's not clear what you have tried with your iPad, but my first reaction would be to plug it into the iMac's USB port. I don't recall reading any instructions for the iPad that involve TCP/IP or DNS. Can you point us to your reference?

VirusBarrier is not needed on a Mac and will only cause issues, as you have found out. Also you are posting in the 10.7 forums when you state your mac is running 10.6. Try the Snow Leopard and iPad forums and try contacting the developers of VirusBarrier also.

Good Luck
