Wifi issue - Sleep/resume when Time Machine is active results in lost connection

I was having issues with wifi connectivity to my Time Capsule since upgrading to Lion. I've narrowed down the scenario to having my Macbook go to sleep when Time Machine is backing up. When I later resume, my wifi connection is dead and I have to disable/reenable to connect to the Time Capsule.

Running early 2011 Macbook Pro 15" with OS X Lion.

I just bought a time capsule and I have a Mac Book Air (the verson without the back light keyboard). I am having the same issue. I also have the latest verson of Lion. A friend of mine has the newer Air and a time capsule and is NOT having the same issue. Also I think he may have a diffrent wifi radio in his because when he is within 5 feet of his Time Capsule he gets 25 megs a seccond of data. I can't get that from mine.

Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Like others it only will happen if my mac goes to sleep.

I have the same problem. Since upgrading to Lion, when I reawaken my Macbook Pro, and Time Machine is running--and it always seems to be running--I have to wait 1-2 minutes for Time Machine Backup to time out, then wifi reconnects.

The suggestions seem to be:

- force quit / relaunch Finder

- or notice if TM is running before suspending

- or wait for Apple to fix it, which they haven't in the past month

Same problem with a MacBook Late 2008 and a 1TB Time Capsule.

I have to wait to Time Capsule finish the backup and eject the disk, or stop it manually.

My MB uses the 5 GHz wifi of the Time Capsule, and I have also activated the 2,4 GHz, with different name, to use with other devices like ipod.

Has anyone tryed to conetc the MB to 2,4 GHz and see if the problem continues?

Now I'm at work. But when I get home I'll check.

If Apple does not correct this in the next update (10.7.2), I am thinking to go back to Snow Leopard.

Thanks at all.

I've noticed that this is very intermittent. Time machine works overtime on my system, gigabytes of new stuff, it's busy all the time but I noticed that it doesn't always hang on re-awake if TM is running. When it hangs, TM is always running but often it'll awake with TM running and the WiFi will be running just fine.

I can't be sure about this, I've only tried it half a dozen times but I think it only hangs if you power down then power up with the charging lead plugged in. So far, if I shut the lid with the lead out, it wakes up just fine.

Like I said, I'm not 100% sure but so far it seems to be working. I thought I'd mention it anyway, see if others found the same thing.

Same problem here with new MacBook Air running Lion. Just switched out my Netgear dual-band with Time Capsule and this morning when waking the system from sleep, which occured in the middle of a time machine backup, I couldn't see the Time Capsule on the network. After some fiddling I'm re-connected but get the continuous "Wi-Fi Searching..." radar icon.
