This brings me to think it may be a specific app that I installed recently that may have caused this. Will try to delete some recent apps, and see if it makes any difference.

this is totally sotware. i can't fix my phone after trying every trick, restoring, and trying all ten cords that i have.

If you restored it and it wasn't fixed, and you tried 10 cords, and you still have the problem your phone is BROKEN. If a Restore with new software doesn't fix it, how can it be software?

How can it be the software???? If there is a problem with the software and you restore it using the same software that has a problem to begin with,how can it NOT be the software.

Well, it may be a software issue for some of you, but it's a hardware issue for me. One connector no longer works, another still does, with the same cord for each.
