When charging my screen reads "charging is not supported with this accessory". Why?
iPhone 3GS
Well after using my new usb cable i bought from apple for the past 2 days i haven't had the annoying 'charging is not supported with this accessory' message! Hopefully it stays this way.
hello
try to do this:
turn on the airplane mode
turn off the iphone
connect the iphone to your computer
turn on the iphone
turn off the airplane off
hope it works for you
Thank you for attempt to help.
But for my iphone 3GS it does not work.
Is it a powered hub? Maybe the iphone 5 wasn't getting enough power when plugged into it. As I said before, we haven't seen any problems since getting a more powerful USB car charger.
You are sooooo smart!!!
If you have tried different chargers and different cables your phone is broken.
Aiden,
What happened 3 weeks ago? Did you perhaps drop it? Add any new apps to it, or even worse, upgrade the IOS?
If the the new connector doesn't work I will be moving my business to samsung.
my phone is died. Cannot connect to anything or recovery mode
Hi all! My husband's iPhone 3gs started doing this for no apparent reason. I read through a couple of forums and tried a few things, but what worked was taking out and re-seating the SIM card.
just read all this and nothing worked until i tried it in my OH old docking station and it looksd like its charging!!! was totally dead so will have to wait and see but fingers crossed!!
I got this message today as well. The solution? I turned on my phone (iPhone 5) screen to the lockscreen before plugging it in. It works now. It might not be a permanent fix, but it's a fix.
Cheers.
The moisture caused some unidentifed internal damage, or your dock connector is dirty or damaged.
This is usually a hardware problem; dirt moisture or a bent pin in the dock connector on the bottom of the phone. It doesn't take much dirt to "fool" the phone into thinking there's a bad connection.
P.S.
Heard someone suggesting to clean contacts with parfume - not the best idea.
Parfume is 70-80% alcohol, but it contains also some oils in it (fragrance)
If possible - get clean alcohol.
