why i can't perform software update for my MBP

I Have same problem, 5.38 AM.

Come on Apple, we have Lion.

Both the MacMini and MBP can connect to the software update server this morning (US), I made no removal of .plists, no reboots of either of the computers, as mentioned in other threads, it was simply Apple being down for whatever reason.

It was awesome to see all the worldwide users who contributed to this thread though. 🙂

To fix this problem, you will need to setup DNS servers.

Go to System Preferences >> Network >> select your network from left pane and click on "Advanced..."

Under DNS tab, add IP addresses as 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4. Once done restart the system, thats all! 🙂

Im in Delhi, runing OSX 10.7.2
And i still cant so a software update.

This is the message i get:

"Software Update can't check for updates because of a network problem."
"Software Update can’t connect to the update server. Make sure you’re connected to the Internet, and then try again."

If i run network diagnostics the net that was previously working fine, stops working, and i loose connection.
I did add the IP mentioned above.
