Nooooooo don't go! Please!
Diagnosts are like network settings: failed, isp: failed, internet: failed, server: failed
Contact your ISP.
BestBuy cannot help you with this.
I'll be watching just yell if you need me.
Before that, what about resetting the router? (all my other devices connect fine )
I'm pretty sure this is an ISP issue, Wi Fi is good.
What do you think?
Then I guess i'll call my internet service provider in the morning.
I would never take my Mac anywhere near Best Buy for repair. In my experience, they cannot even repair a Windows machine properly.
Still a little confused about the Lion os freezing though.
I was going to suggest resetting the router. Very good idea, also it's a good idea to reset the Modem. Do both then restart the iMac in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. It's possible a cache or two may have gotten corrupted. Then try connecting while still in Safe Mode. If that works then restart normally and see what happens.
If you haven't done so, try turning off your router and your iMac for 5 minutes.
Then restart your iMac then the router.
Try a browser.
You need to send up smoke signals 😉
Safe Mode is a good idea.
Seems like everyone hates BestBuy lol.
Is safe mode supposed to be laggy?
Keep iMac on (not safemode)
unplug router for 5 minutes (while imac is on)
Plug router in
Restart mac in SAFE MODE
Connect to wifi
Restart
No, Safe Mode deletes caches that may help.
Startup in Safe Mode then go to the Apple menu icon then click Restart.
ill try that now without restarting router or anything, what are the commands to do so?
Try the router / iMac off routine first.
If that doesn't help, try a Safe Mode boot.
