Safari can't connect to the server...firefox or whatever other browser can, please help

Hi everyone,

I'm having a very frustrating issue, soon as i start up Safari i always get the Safari can't connect to the server" page. Also its not as if Safari is timing out or as if i first get a blank white page that could point out that its loading or searching the start up page without luck, nope, soon as i click the safari icon there is the grey page saying safari can't connect. It does this for whatever site adres i type in or whatever adres i have set as homepage.

strange thing is i never have a problem when using Firefox or any other webrowser simply works , soon as i start up firefox it just opens my start up page without any issues what so ever.

tryed everything from un-instaling and re-installing Safari to cleaning history, cache, reset Safari...checked out if maybe it has something to do with my account permissions but everything seems ok, afterall there's only one account set on the computer at that is the admin, the guest account is disabled. No parental controls are set on the computer.

After re-installing Safari and first time i opened safari i got this option saying that there seemed to be a problem conecting to the server and asked if i want to do some trouble shooting clicked yes and it said that there seemed to be no problem with my internet connection, yet i keep getting the "Safari can't connect to the server" page " e v e r y t i m e

I'm using Safari 5.1

Hoping someone here could give me a heads up on how to get this **** browser to work. All help is really appreciated

Roni,

Before you un install it, check the rules list first. You should have your network monitor icon at the top, somewhere by you airport icon. Click on that, then Little Snitch Rules. You now see a list of applications, and what they are and are not allowed to access. Scroll down until you see Safari, and see if anything is set to deny. If so, double click the denied connection, and a window will pop up. Change from deny to allow and then see if Safari will work.
