While trying to figure out why safari keeps quitting on me, I found an answer to someone else, who was told to go into logs and I was floowing along, but I guess they are ahead of tiger- anwyay I did find this, and wonder, can I do as it suggests somehow?

So which version of iPhoto do you have? To me it seems like it is saying it is finding something that is old and not in use since OSX 10.3

Applejack does the things Safe Mode did, plus a few more. The closest you want to get to "spring cleaning on a Mac. A handy utility.

Probably don't need to safe delete the files, just empty trash normally.

.exe = a Windows file. Probably came attached to an e-mail.

Flash problems. Could also be the age of your computer and other hardware problems. Although I too can't run the newest verion of Flash I can't say I've encountered perhaps more than 2 sites where it may have been an issue. BUT, sites are really cramming stuff in and an old computer can choke, especially if you're watching serious video where they expect a computer a lot more powerful than ours.

Know you're on Adobe's site? Can anything on the Internet be sure? Do you truly know I'm not a giraffe? Use one of the Open DNS servers (I'm sure BDAqua has the directions at hand 😉) which helps against spoofing sites. Again, in a quarter century of computing I can't say I've encountered one that a modicum of sense (like looking at the addressbar and figuring the FBI wouldn't have its web servers located in India) wouldn't hep you avoid.

That, "Limnos - you'e a genius" - gotta admit you got me there!😁

Hey. Oy I am tired today.

Anyway- I went to the applejack site, and the top said do a scan first! So I did-but zap, this is an old OS, sorry...so I began the applejack download...I read the agreement and the part about print it now... and the sidebar issues that it talked about and well- NAH!

On the best of days it is barely tolerable (my machine) and I cannot deal with adding such stuff. (I do not go near tylenol and advil with their poisonous properties either). {liver,kidney, respectively}

ANyway though- I did, with your help and the help from Limnos, get the machine back to where it was before it zapped me out of even seeing any but the simplest of websites...

So thanks! Now how can I give each of you two credits on the "correct answer" thing- when i hit it once, it closes the others out yes?

The flash files reappeared in my drive after the deleting at the site....and I guess, I will not argue with it. Dropping it is when I got the verify problems and all.

Maybe on a day when I am not drained of energy I can experiment...

Thanks so very much though.

Hey again. Thanks for your kind patient and helpful contributions to my dilemma of the year...

I almost downloaded the applejack- but read all the sidebar issues and chose to wait. I did save the page though...

I at least have the machine back to where it was when I was happy before the fiasco. As the economics are so sour, that may be way more than I will need anyway. Pictures- and maybe a place to do a little wordprocessing... and perhaps the occasional ride to a free wireless zone, to trade hello's with distant friends of yore...

Thanks so much... what happens if I click correct answer- does it stop the option fot BD? I owe you both good points for you assistance. Ack.

TOo tired after last night (and sleep apnea )- I go. Be well and thanks.

OK Hey again everyone...

I give BDAqua "correct answer" because- while it was convoluted getting here, the thing that began it was a tv station site that made safari quit... he told how to uninstall and what to re-install in flash- and i just did that- and that site now not only does not crash safari- it plays the videos! YAY, thanks!

A new comptuer!

This is not to disparage the awesome knowledge and kindly assist from Limnos- without whose help I would be stuck trying to figure out how to not need a new hard drive...

Both of you- THANKS THANKS THANKS!!! Peace, C
