I got a new GMC Canyon SLT truck. It doesn't have a disc player so I have to get my music from my iTunes library and get in onto an iPod or a flash drive in order to play my music. Reading this thread, it sounds like quite an involved procedure to put the music on a flash drive and convert it to MP3 format. It seems almost easier to buy an iPod, put the music on it from iTunes library and plug it into vehicle. Why doesn't Apple make anything easy for us old farts?

Dougscript convert and export script - http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=convertandexport and an app with more features http://dougscripts.com/apps/m3unifyapp.php

You will find most of the advanced computer users on this forum fall under your "old farts" age category.

Even if you do not use the above script, converting to mp3 is about 3 mouse clicks. Copying to a flash drive is about 2 mouse clicks.I am not sure until you wait for a Star Trek generation computer to come about that is could be made much easier. Are you sure it even needs to be in mp3 format? I would think any vehicle without a disc player that takes flash drives would also play AAC files. Then it is simply a matter of selecting files and dragging them to the drive.

It's actually very simple.

If your stereo can use AAC/M4P, just copy them from iTunes.

If they need to be MP3, convert them first then add them.

I use the tool noted by Limbos to set the files as you want (convert if needed, rename, etc)
