Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

When will Apple resolve the FCPX Crashes when Effects are added to a clip in timeline.

I have tried every route to get answers from Apple regarding system crashes when applying an Effect to a clip in the timeline. I am now getting more aware from posts in all sorts of Forum / Communities that this is causing VERY MANY users a problem.

It would only take 30 seconds for Apple to post a statement to let their users know what they intend or are doing to resolve together with an estimated fix time.

Come on Apple please SAY something at least.

Hi Ian,

I just sent you an email as I have the same experience (receiving the email notification, but no post visible).

I was able to get past this by shutting down safari and restarting it. Some glitch in the forum I hope.

To your reply: I fully agree with you, which was the intention of my reply. I didn't read that from your former post (My lack of English I guess)

Yes removing the FCP trial has fixed the crashes...however.

iMac - Snow leopard 10.6.8:

Checked the creation dates of the trial FCPX package contents, August.

I removed the trial version from the iMac.

Trash the prefs

Downloaded another copy of the trial.

Install.

I now have another 30 days left to purchase.

Opened the package and noticed the creation dates, October.

Working just fine with all effects.

NOTE:

The iMac still has a full, purchased copy of FCPX v10 loaded and running just fine.

Opened the package and noticed the creation dates, June.

MacBook Pro - Lion 10.7.2 clean install.

Checked the creation dates of the trial FCPX package contents, August.

I then removed the trial version from the MacBook.

Trash the prefs.

Downloaded another copy of the trial.

I now have only 15 days left to purchase.

Opened the package and noticed the creation dates, October.

Trash the prefs again.

Still only 15 days left to purchase.

Still crashes on the effects.

Yes, Apple have posted a stealth version update of the trial. Yes it is 'unforgivable'.

Open your pacfkage contents and compare the creation dates
