Apple TV 2 will not play purchased videos from an authorized computer

I have been trying all night to get purchased videos from an authorized computer play on my Apple TV 2. My computer is authorized and I have not reached my limit of authorized computers. I even went as far as to completly reset all the settings on my Apple TV; the music plays fine and it can list all my availible video content but as soon as I select a video of any kind it gives me the following error: Authorization is Required. You must authorize your computer with the account used to purchased the content. I am going crazy, I can access the same videos from my Home Sharing on my iPhone or from another computer using iTunes. I have tried deauthorizing the computer several times with no luck. Any suggestions?

Had auth problems like the rest of you and then had another brief problem tonight (solved by reauthorising and then turning home sharing on and off). To be honest getting a bit peeved with this unit now. We have to unplug it wait 30 secs at least twice a week since we've had it. Pretty flaky at the best of times but I get the feeling it isn't a faulty unit. I reckon it's software related and I would appreciate apple getting their fingers out of their arses and actually spend a bit of time on the software for this unit. On paper it's fantastic! And when it works properly it is a really great idea.

I can confirm, both of my AppleTV legacies running 3.0.2 needed to make a new purchase to authorize purchases made from iTunes directly. My AppleTV 2 does not have this problem. It appears a patch is needed for the legacy AppleTVs to properly authorize with the new iCloud infrastructure. The work around is to make new purchases from your AppleTV legacy, and sync back to iTunes.

Just wanted to let everyone know That I called Apple support service the other night do to the issue, not knowing this was the solution and the Tech told me that he could help solve the issue but that it would cost me $30 for him to help me. Basicly he was trying to extort $30 out of me for a 2 second process. Wonderful customer support.

Some could argue that this might be done on purpose by Apple in order to extort $30 from less computer savy consumers. Will not be buying another Apple product again.
