Will the iPhone 4 support the new Siri integration?

I am aware of the minor new features in the new iPhone 4S, but am wondering if Siri will be in the iPhone 4 when ios 5 comes out next Wednesday.

iPhone 4, iOS 4.2.7, 16GB CDMA Black

Really? Is that so? Well explain to me why you need a dual core chip when ALL INFO is processed server side. I'd love to provide links here and I'm not talking about lame JB links but I'm sure they won't be allowed. Why don't u ppl stuck on this dual core crap provide proof aside from what apple sales has told you. There is lots of evidence online and it's not hidden of siri running 110% on a ip4 / iPod 4g. Have your opinion that's fine but if your going to throw technical crap like its been redsigned and does so much more without explaining what effect it will take on the the cpu/gpu and can't provide evidence then maybe you need to study up. This nonsense already happened with FaceTime and the ip4/ip3. The ip3 runs FaceTime although apple said it wouldn't and ip3 users upgraded. No brainer here.

Apple has stated that Siri will not be installed on lower models of the iPhone. It has been proven to work on older devices and since it was an app that worked just fine before there's no reason that it shouldn't now.

I don't however think that's in an "injustice" that Apple only offers Siri on their newest model. Being that it was a selling point, it would only **** off people that upgraded for them to offer it to lower models. Their are other apps that work pretty well in the app store, maybe not intergrated into the phone as well as apple has done Siri, but they work pretty well none-the-less.

Also: I don't really understand why you guys are so emotional about jailbreaking, but it has been proven on those devices, you would think that someone did something to you personally the way some of you go teenage girl about it lol

My entire life I got used to invest in good hardware and benefit from frequent software upgrades that my hardware could run. Paid upgrades or not, that was the rule.

In my entire life was never FORCED to make a hardware upgrade just to have access to a software feature that was pretty much runnable on my current hardware. That is nosense!

I invested on Apple hardware ALSO looking for future software upgrades. That was the deal since the begining.

If Siri will not be ported to iPhone 4, I am done with Apple. I'll go droid and stimulate a more open model.

Sorry folks, I am a HUGE fan of FAIR PLAY.

I understand fair play as to play by the rules, to use the common sense and to be gentle to the other players in a way that you promote the good so you can benefit from that as a feedback.

As a customer, I expect to be treated like that so I keep buying the products from those companies I identify myself with.

When Apple doesn't give me the oppotunity to run a piece of software in the very hardware I bought from Apple itself, not even if I pay for that new piece of software, I don't think Apple is being fair with me and all their customers. To buy a new hardware just because of a software feature is not by any means something I could understand as fair.

This is the first time I face this situation with Apple. I never had to buy a piece of hardware just because of a software feature. And I won't. Better go look for more open plataforms, that I can get software from other providers that integrates tigh with the core of the operating system and I do not get locked up with my hardware.

There are plenty of paid and free alternatives to Siri.

Try checking them out.

The problem with Siri's alternatives is that I think they can not integrate tight with the core of the operating system and most of their functionalities because of Apple's closed model. Can alternatives set up alarms, go read emails, change appointments and all that stuff using the iOS default apps?

I just got the feeling I had been drown to a dead lock.

Maybe I just don't care about Siri enough.

I think it looks interesting, but far from ready for me to use daily, or even more then once or twice a month.

If it was actually fully working, and was as flawless as the demo videos show, then I would be more excited to get my hands on it.

But everytime I've played with it I am more disappointed how rough it is, and how many times it is wrong.

It is a beta, and it's a toy.

Considering how much bloat is in iOS5, I am happy to not have one more bit that I won't use; I don't want stocks, or bookshelf, or a seperate music and movies app, gamecenter is rubbish, and why do I need a seperate contacts app?

But as with every operating system, or phone OS I have used, there is pluses and minuses.

Before iPhone I was a real Nokia fan. But they always updated OS on certain phones, and features that were really OS did not get given to all phones. I had to update phone hardware often to get OS updates.

So I really don't care that I don't have a feature that I had not seen when I bought the phone. and one that is still in Beta.

In many ways I shouldn't even bother replying to your posts, but I am amazed how dramatic and upset people get over an unfinished test app on a phone.

And as I learned with the XFCP issue, Apple doesn't really care if you like it or not.

Apple does what ever Apple wants; and in the end they want money, as do all corporations.

Apple especially are not a company that listens to customers, or follows others.

My advise is to not expect anything from any company beyond the initial purchase promises.

Did someone just write apple needs to make money? That's why the iPhone 4 doesn't get Siri? Seriously now it's just greed. They have 80 billion in cash? It's one thing to make money it's another thing to just be greedy. The 4s was not much of upgrade over 4 so Siri is the spin. The reality people would still buy the 4s. Remember Siri is not wn apple invention it was simply just another app in the app store, and this year aPple bought the Siri company and the week before the 4s launch, they cut off access and removed it from the app store. The simple answer to this question is no, it's greed, maybe apple will for one time in their life actually show some benevolence to their customers and when the i5 comes out apple will allow Siri back on other idevices.

The 4S is not much of an upgrade? You don't know what you're talking about. The phones only look almost identical. The A5 and the 8 MP f2.4 camera with 1080p video recording are not much of an upgrade? The 14.4 Mbps radio chip which doubles download speeds? How about the Dual GSM/CDMA capability making this a true world phone. Siri is just the icing on the cake. This phone destroys the 4 in just about every area. It especially shines with games like Infinity Blade 2, Gta 3, Real Racing 2,etc. Apple really should've just changed the case to shut everyone up. If it would've had a new design there would've been no complaints. The 4S lets you use every app to its maximum potential.

I can't believe all of this whining. You bought the iPhone 4 and ENJOYED ALL OF ITS NEW FEATURES LIKE FACETIME AND THE RETINA DISPLAY WHEN IT WAS THE FLAGSHIP. It is no longer the flagship. SIRI IS THE KILLER APP OF THE NEW FLAGSHIP, THE 4S. It doesn't matter that it's software. A new product will always have something the older one didn't. Apple didn't screw anyone over. When you bought the 4 you got stuff the 3Gs users didn't.

The funny thing is you and I both know YOU WILL NEVER HAVE SIRI ON YOUR IPHONE 4. You'll just have to buy a 4S like I did or the next iPhone. Siri is not the same thing as the app was and you're not entitled to it. Apple gives you regular updates btw. You got ios 5 and you will get ios 6. Have fun waiting for any kind of updates on an Android phone. You'll be lucky if you get ONE UPDATE.

Will the iPhone 4 support the new Siri integration?
