Will the iPhone 4 support the new Siri integration?

I am aware of the minor new features in the new iPhone 4S, but am wondering if Siri will be in the iPhone 4 when ios 5 comes out next Wednesday.

iPhone 4, iOS 4.2.7, 16GB CDMA Black

1-2kB is probably more than enough data to send back and forth per siri request so you shouldnt be in too much trouble. Cloud isnt that bad either its no different than downloading a song before unless all your dumb enough to have all your devices syncing to the cloud over data networks. Ideally you'd have your laptop and ipad etc. at home on wifi downloading for free. Or set not to cloud sync over data networks and just over wifi

"I bought an Iphone 4G white about 2 weeks ago , and i searched all over the web their were plenty of rumours about Iphone5 and 4S , but then i reffered to the apple site and their was nothing apart from the IOS 5 but nothing about any new iphone's , a couple of weeks later they released 4S , what the heck on earth were they even thinking while relasing that , I mean seriously i respected Apple for releasing a new phone every 2 or 1 and half year , but seriouly not all of us can simply change their phones every year and my iphone4 is less than a month old , and ironically Siri won't work on iphone 4 until they adject it , Seriously what have they gained now ? and they wonder why their shares are falling apart i've seen samsung s2 and used it its basically way better even than 4s , as much as i was dissapointed i was depressed now am roming around with a phone which is apperntly less than a month old but basically its outdated and can't handle the new features of the IOS5 . Thanks Apple you made my day ! ."

You DO know, that lots of features on iOS 5 will be available for iPhone 4 Users... right....?

You can update your "outdated"(far ahead of its time phone) on October 12th to iOS 5.

Enjoy.

@ StruckByRain : I know i will be enjoying the new features , but then its sooo dissapointing when u come to know that the best feature of of 'em i.e Siri won't be availabe for the Iphone 4 , i mean how ignorant is that and for some reason i dont buy the processer excuse , its some fake **** apple has to claime for people who own Iphone 4 to trade it for the 4S otherwise no Iphone 4 user will trade his for the 4S . so i definatly agree with Barrotes and

StupidHead , coz bascially the A4 processor isnt that slow or that rubbish to not handle Siri .

Ok, all of this stuff flying back and forth about Siri and why it can't run on the iPhone 4. I have Siri on my iPhone 4, and it runs fine. I'm just trying to find out if they are going to delete Siri from my iPhone 4 if I upgrade to iOS 5?

I realize that Siri on the iPhone 4s is bigger better faster, but the old Siri on my iPhone 4 is just fine for now. Why can't I keep it?

Do we keep the old Siri or not? None of the docs are clear in my opinion.

i agree with this statement they can test it etc but at the same time some are saying alhtough of course it will work better with the 4s because the hardware is better. but also they need people to buy the 4s as well so they need as many gimmics as possible if everything on the 4s worked perfectly and was availible on the 4 why would we go out and buy the 4s?

if it was a redesign of course we would but not the same same design...

some people are already using siri on iphone 4, this means it could work on all iphine 4's but yes might need a lot of power so could be sluggish or it could be just to keep it to 4s+ feature only its hard to say at this time.

im sure the internet will have a lot of videos of standard iphone4 using siri over the next few months and we can decided then. and of course after a few million 4s phone have sold apple moght release siri for everyone alnyway 🙂

Siri, as implemented originally, was a simple standalone app with limited interaction with other apps on the phone. Siri as implemented under iOS 5 on the 4S is fully integrated into the OS and can touch nearly every native app and who knows how many 3rd party apps once the SDK is updated to support it. It's an entirely different animal. Perhaps it would have been better to change the name for the new version, but it's not even a fair comparison to hold the two up next to each other.

Will the iPhone 4 support the new Siri integration?
