Will the iPhone 4 support the new Siri integration?

I am aware of the minor new features in the new iPhone 4S, but am wondering if Siri will be in the iPhone 4 when ios 5 comes out next Wednesday.

I have hearing that there is still a chance that Apple will be bringing the feature to older iDevices such as the iPhone 4 so if Apple adds this features to the old iDevices such as iPhone 4 this will let many users take off from buying the new iPhone 4S.

According to JBNation website Apple is testing Siri on iPhone 4

"Today we have a very interesting bit of news, tipped to us by a source close to Apple. According to them, Apple is testing Siri on devices other than the iPhone 4S. The device specifically mentioned to us was the iPhone 4, but we can most likely assume that other devices are being tested as well. This means that we will potentially see a software update that allows Siri to run on older devices. Currently, it only runs on the iPhone 4S, but Apple has given employees access to a special software version that incorporates Siri’s features on to older devices. Hackers and developers are currently working for a port, but if Apple releases this in a software update any time soon, they may not need to."

Another source also confirmed to Appadvice that the test went really well as far as performance is concerned. Unfortunately, the microphone of the iPod touch 4G is not as good as the one on the iPhone; this could hold Siri back from that device if it can’t be overcome with software.

If Apple port Siri to iPhone 4 or to the old i-device this will affect the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S selling

Apple only cares about profit. Ive seen siri run on a 3gs model and it can communicate to the apple servers. What does apple have to say? nothing its excusive for 4s. apple is going to have to realize that they should sell it on the app store for older devices if not just wait for some jailbroken app to allow it for free. i'm waiting for it. ill also pay for it too.

just another reason to jailbreak my iphone 3g, 3gs and 4. go apple.... I'm tired of buying new iphones for new software. seriously you already have all the money in the world anyway. why not just sell it to older devices? you know you can get it to work.

Have you seen from forum messages that the Siri servers sometimes gets bogged down and can't respond, and that's with only 6 million iPhone 4S's accessing Siri? Can you imagine how well it would work with 80 million iphone 3GS and 4's accessing it?

And, of course, you are right. Apple only cares about profits. That's all any corporation that stays in business cares about. if they didn't care only about profits their stock would tank. Companies that don't care about profits do not stay in business long.
