Snow Leopard and iCloud

I watched the iPhone presentation yesterday 10/4 and iCloud intigration was only mentioned with Lion. Back on August 29th there were a lot of rumors that iCloud would also be supported in Snow Leopard. Does anyone know if iCloud be available in/on/for Snow Leopard?

At the moment that seems to be a good option as Apple prefers Windows to Snow Leopard for icloud. I am sure you will be able to use OSX SL if Apple decides to support it. However problems include iphoto and Aperture as these need a OSX machine running Lion to work with photo stream. As a photographer I dont know what to do at the moment. I will give Apple a week or two as I am waiting for a bug fix for Aperture 3.2 to work with my 17 inch Macbook Pro (core duo alas) and RAW files. Had to spend hours recovering my photos . .

I have been asking some of the same questions in another forum. It seems that the particular services that used to be so great for me in MobileMe will not be available in icloud, or will work less well - e.g. syncing email and addresses, backing up and syncing data not created in iwork (that I don't use), creating webpages from iphoto etc etc. I thought the point of icloud was to be able to access one's data instantly from anywhere, but this is not the case, according to advice I obtained from another techie guy on another discussion post. If so, what is exactly the purpose of icloud at all? Maybe that's why its free of charge, cause they realise its totally useless for anyone in the real world. I am very reluctant to upgrade to Lion because of the cost of upgrading my 3rd party software, and because basically SL works just fine for me right now, so why fix it if it aint broke? The advice I have had is to switch my email account to gmail (I have a gmail account anyway, and its so-so, prone to getting hacked a lot in my experience) and use dropbox for storage (but I don't know if data can be sync'd that way), and picasa for photo albums (much clunkier than mobileme albums). Does anyone have any better ideas please?

It just as well I am limited to 3 MB DSL connection and icLoud would be useless to me. Thatproblem wit iCloud and X.7 to begin with. To be able to do anything your going to need a Minimum of 12-16MB Dowload and 8-10 MB Upload to use iCloud.

I have the utility Lion Cache cleaner. One feature it has is an estimator of the time to download Lion.

The estimated time is 1-3/4 days constant connection.

Apple and other companies are assuming everyone can afford a Cable, FOIS, T1, or T5 connection. when about 85% of the use is still using Dial-up. Many areas are not covered by Cable. Limited areas by DSL. And DSL is not that great. sometimes download spped is around 3 MB. nor often than not is less than 512k.
