no the Royalty to which the agreement refers is what one would possibly have to pay the owner of the loops: Apple. the agreement says you do NOT have to pay a royalty to Apple to use their loops.

you can do ANYthing you want with ANYthing you _create_, that would include licensing your music, if you so desired.
The "Royalty" would be what you get paid when someone buys a license to use the music. You can sell the music, but not license it. Possibly, you could bypass this somehow by sharing to a 3rd party service such as Amazon.
you're connecting your key phrase to the wrong set of words. read it this way:
"you can use the loops on a royalty free basis, paying no royalty fee to Apple, to create your own original music compositions..."

Unequivocally yes!
Reasons for not being able to sell a song you made in GB would be no different than selling a song made any other way. GB itself has nothing to do with it.
Also, there is no restriction for using AppleLoops in any song and doing anything you want with that song.
leonieDF wrote:
Yes, you can, but read the licence that came with your GB installation. You are restricted when using the loops:
You can't sell the loops, and you can't sell audio containing the loops.
To clarify, this is false.
No need to read the licence or stress out in any way.
Use, enjoy, sell.
The one exception is that you're not allowed to set up a pirating shop for the loops themselves, to duplicate and sell JamPacks as raw materials for other people's songs. She's correct in that "You can't sell the loops."
But as soon as you do anything with the loops themselves - put them in a song, a commercial, a salad, there are no restrictions whatsoever. In other words if you are a musician, filmmaker, or anything other than an illicit software pirating shop, you have nothing to worry about.
Hang,
sorry for intruding, but we could use your expert advice in this discussion: Re: sierra 10.12.6 = soundfonts/dls device not working
Would you mind to have a look, if you have time? Are you still using sound fonts? I stopped using them some time ago.
Cheers
Léonie
What if you change the speed of the loops and pitching them ? Can you use them still?
GarageBand's loops are meant to adopt to the tempo and the key of your song automatically. SO changing the pitch by transposing the loop and changing the tempo should not matter.

Depends on country! The law's are not the same around the world. And, as long as there are no more than 8 sec. of GB sample's in the work, you can sell it e.g. in Germany.

What are the laws on Magrathea regarding Apple Loops? 😉
1) DON'T PANIC
2) Know where your towel is.
3) Don't care about Apple's If you design a custom planet.

In my licence I read:
You may use the Apple and third party audio loop content (Audio Content), contained in or otherwise included with the Apple Software, on a royalty-free basis, to create your own original music compositions or audio projects. You may broadcast and/or distribute your own music compositions or audio projects that were created using the Audio Content, however, individual audio loops may not be commercially or otherwise distributed on a standalone basis, nor may they be repackaged in whole or in part as audio samples, sound effects or music beds.
The key phrase is: , on a royalty-free basis,
What would be the point of selling without royalties?
I would put my loops and tracks in a salad...
that was funny...
I have sold many tracks that I created with all kinds of "loops" and Pro-Samples. Just add some of your own original music and mixes and you are the next world famous producer. Lol
*Ignore me, @MattiMattMatt was very helpful! (Yes I hear your eyes rolling, next time I'll read the comments, orrr put em in a blender because most of them are a remix of the question). Pun intended*
I live in the USA, now I haven't read all of the comments, but could I sell my songs made from loops and apple tracks? I mean there's more then one playing and whatnot so it's not just one track that I'm trying to "re-sell", I've made like 60 songs so far and be a shame if I couldn't put it on the Itunes Store. Again, I arranged the loops to play in a certain order (What we call composing music) so it not exactly selling one loop. More like my own creation compiled up of other's tracks. Of course whenever I have shared my music with I friend, I've told them that I do not own the tracks. So where exactly do I stand if I wanna sell my songs?
-Thanks btw, Midnight9746
*Edited*
I just realized that I'm basically bunge-jumpping into an old post... :/
So I can just put a bunch of loops together on garage band then sell it on iTunes?
you can't sell audio containing the loops.
That's not true, you definitely can. Here's the license agreement:
