My iPhone 4 is frozen after updating the Facebook app with today's update. I turned it off, and now it will not restart. Apple logo shows for upwards of 15 minutes. Does anyone have any ideas? I am on the road for work, and do not have the computer with me that I sync my phone to. This is potentially a debilitating injury, as I basically live on my phone when I am on the road (and at home as well).

Yeah, JUST happened to me as well. Stuck on the Apple screen. Any solutions? and I'm not too big on losing my pictures I just took this long weekend 😟
unfortunately, from what I've read, restoring is the only solution. this is so aggravating.
Ok guys I tried this and it worked. First I reset my phone (home and power button together), fired up iTunes on my pc and connected my phone via USB cable. I left my phone connected, still stuck on the apple logo for about 15-20 mins and all of a sudden iTunes recognized my phone and it started itself up again. Thankfully I didn't need to do a restore.

Just updated Facebook....and I also am experiencing a dead iphone! WTH?
Before restoring, try downloading iPhone Explorer on your PC and have it open before plugging in your iPhone. It fixed mine just like that after hours of staring at the apple logo! Didn't do anything, other than open the program. Hope that helps!
I can confirm that klz123 method works for me. No restore required iExplorer discovered my phone and brought it back to life and i got the new facebook app up and running!

I don't know what happened, but it wouldn't turn on and after a while of sitting on the charger, it did. THANK THE LORD! Probably won't be using that app again, though. Apple should really get a handle on that.
Donnu if the iExplorer did the magic but my iPhone came to life as described after 5-10 minutes.

Mine has done the exact same! I downloaded the latest version of Facbook app on the phone and it killed the phone. It will not go past the white Apple logo icon. Nothing I do seems to work - including "hard" resets.

@ base did you backup your iphone?? if you did it should be on your mac/pc.. 🙂

Dang I wish I had come here before starting the restore.. I would have tried some of the ideas posted here. This ***** but yea it was the facebook app. **** **** last back up was over a month ago and just got back from kids first trip to Disneyland <-- all the pics and video were on my phone, im crushed 😟
anybody know what woud happen if I just unplug it during the restore? says I have 13mins left. I want a shot at just leaving it plugged in or something
