Did the Facebook App Update Kill My Phone?

My iPhone 4 is frozen after updating the Facebook app with today's update. I turned it off, and now it will not restart. Apple logo shows for upwards of 15 minutes. Does anyone have any ideas? I am on the road for work, and do not have the computer with me that I sync my phone to. This is potentially a debilitating injury, as I basically live on my phone when I am on the road (and at home as well).

Ok y'all: I don't know if it was just the waiting or what. I downloaded iExplorer and after a while of nothing I pressed refresh a few times. Then I closed and quit iTunes. My phone actually died while it was plugged in. I reopened iTunes. After a minute or so the phone came back on and is now showing up in both iTunes and iExplorer. It's even backing up as we speak. My phone was restarting every ten minutes, on the dot, for an hour and a half before it died. Hope this helps some of y'all.

(I have the Apple Iphone 4)

I updated the FB app because the older version FB wouldn't allow me to scroll to read posts.

Once I updated it...the FB app would not open so I had to delete it and resinstall it as per the insturctions in the app store.

Midway through the download my phone locked up and wouldn't respond to anything so I had to reset the phone. For 40 min the phone was stuck on the apple logo and finally turned back on.

I have redownloaded the FB app and it seems to be working fine!

same thing happened here, unfortunately to restore the phone you have to erase and restore from itunes. To get off the apple screen you have to reset, by holding down the home and top button until it shuts off and the apple logo appears again let go of the top button while holding onto the home button until the disk plugging into itunes logo comes on. Then plug it into itunes and lose eveything since your last update, fortunately for my wife who has an iphone as well we wont be updating her facebook app.

Thankfully I came here last night before going totally insane. Plugging it into iTunes and letting it just sit there worked for whatever reason. I had to wait about 30 minutes but then I had that magical sound of the computer recognizing the iPhone. It then came back to life, but I wasn't done with my problem. I tried to reinstall the Facebook app and it did the same **** thing again, it locked up on "installing". So rather than wait this out, I deleted Facebook from iTunes entirely and resynced so it removed it from my phone. I then "purchased" Facebook right from iTunes on my PC and then synced again and it finally added it to my iPhone and I could use the app once I logged in again.

What a nightmare over one app.... And the ironic part is while all this was happening, Apple e-mailed me the tracking info for my iPhone 4S which just left Alaska and is due to arrive to me Friday!
