Did the Facebook App Update Kill My Phone?

My iPhone 4 is frozen after updating the Facebook app with today's update. I turned it off, and now it will not restart. Apple logo shows for upwards of 15 minutes. Does anyone have any ideas? I am on the road for work, and do not have the computer with me that I sync my phone to. This is potentially a debilitating injury, as I basically live on my phone when I am on the road (and at home as well).

Try just putting it to charge and leaving it for a few hours. My sons phone just magically sprung back to life after umpteen resets and getting nothing but the apple screen. He eventually just stuck it to charge and after another hour it showed him the "plug me into iTunes" screen (which he couldn't do as wasn't where his PC was) so he just left it charging and it eventually started up itself! Really strange but it's fine now

Same thing. Facebook wouldn't get off the blue startup screen after trying to start it about four times. When I noticed the entire system start to slow down, I deleted the app and hard-reset the iPhone 4, and it's been stuck at the Apple logo for about 15 minutes now. I'm especially scared since I've been iTunesless since migrating to Ubuntu 3 months ago...

IM so upset right now partially mad at myself cuz i havent synced my phone in months and i lost my hard drive a while ago and reinstalled everything (losing itunes data) and never resynced my phone.... I am a victim of this stupid facebook crash also... was installing new facebook it locked my phone up, i did a hard reset, and ive been stuck at the silver apple logo for close to an hour now.... i have iphone exlplorer and itunes up and running and still not getting past the logo screen.... am i doing something wrong or do i leave the phone alone and let it keep resetting itself??? i really dont want to do a full system restore, cuz i will lose all my data which would be tragic to me.... so upset that a stupid app can cause such grief ... any help or insight??

All I did was open iExplorer(first time I ever installed it even) didn't open iTunes at all. Then I plugged it into my USB port and hard reset it after I plugged it in. 2 minutes and it popped up to my slide lock screen. Worked for me. I don't think restoring is necessary if iExplorer got it on for you. Mine is perfect and I installed the Facebook app again and this time no problems. I think the issue was cause you have to delete the Facebook app then hard reset to clear it before installing the new updated version. But that's just what I think.

I dont know if im the only one but twice now after sitting on the silver apple logo while iexplorer is up and running is makes the sound like its connecting and itunes pops up (didnt think i had it open) and it says need to restore, also the phone then shows the picture of plugging cable into pc, saying connect to itunes, which is bascially forcing me to wipe my whole phone, has this happened to anyone else? ? i just got it out of recovery mode via tinyumbrella and now dont have the phone plugged into computer seeing if it will "fix itself"" ughhhhh 😟 😟
