Did the Facebook App Update Kill My Phone?

My iPhone 4 is frozen after updating the Facebook app with today's update. I turned it off, and now it will not restart. Apple logo shows for upwards of 15 minutes. Does anyone have any ideas? I am on the road for work, and do not have the computer with me that I sync my phone to. This is potentially a debilitating injury, as I basically live on my phone when I am on the road (and at home as well).

same here with my iphone 3Gs and my son having the same problem. downloaded the update and froze on blue screen.. deleted app and started to reinstall and phone went a bit crazy so i had to reset it.. and all i got for a long time was the screen stuck on the apple logo. eventually after 4 resets and leaving it alone (in disgust) for ten mins, it suddenly started up and seems ok. i'm not happy to try installing the app again but still have the old version on my itunes. is there a way to just put that version back on my phone? by the way, up to my son going out a little while ago, his phone was still stuck on the apple logo despite resets and leaving it for ages. just hoping it eventually kicks back to life or plugging it into his pc when he gets home tomorrow night will work!

Same thing happened to me, was freaking out and really didnt want to restore since I had so many pictures from the last few days. Left my phone alone (stuck on apple logo), connected to the USB, eventually my pc just found it and it turned on again. Wary of downloading the facebook app again, but at least my phone is up and running! Hold back on restoring if you really don't want to lose your pictures! Your phone might just come back by itself.

Mine still won't turn on past the Apple logo/reset screen. I've left it hooked up to the computer for over an hour now. It's been doing the reset thing so long my battery died.

I downloaded iPhone Explorer, and have both that and iTunes open and neither program even recognizes the iPhone.

Please help! I have important pictures I can't lose! :-(

Mine did too. I had the spinner constantly spinning while on Facebook screen. I simply left it there and made sure I was on WiFi. The update is much faster that way vs 3G. After about 20 mins Facebook closed and then I opened it and I logged in and it was fine. if you close FB before its done it will stop the update until you open the FB app again.

At least this was my experience. This is why a device that doesn't have full multi-tasking *****. Bec it should contonue to update in the background.

It actually said if you have problems once you've installed the update, delete the app and reinstall it, which is what I did and ran into trouble. when I eventually got my phone up & running again I put the version I had on iTunes back on but then decide to be brave and try again. This time I ignored the update completely, deleted facebook from my phone and just installed the app anew and it's all good. Phew! Held my breath for a while though :0)
