I have followed every suggestion in this thread after uninstalling/reinstalling and nothing has worked. I found a thread for an older version of Itunes but it wasn't it was the 10.5 version. Any more suggestions?

I did the winsock reset

checked all my security settings

ports

You name it I did it and nothing works, the closest I got was a the itunes store loading in plain text and that happened once.

I even did a system restore and when I went to open Itunes it said a specific was file was newer and could not load

Well I found a solution for my problem. Since I tried all the great fixes posted in the community which worked for the majority & wish one of them would have worked for me I found a site that has every previous Itune version and downloaded a previous one and the problem is fixed. I can't beleive people have been posting about this problem for over a week and Apple has not created a fix, it was left to users to provide the fixes for us. So if you are in my shoes and the fixes listed did not work use this site to download another version. The one bad think is since I upgraded to 10.5 and even though I removed all the components I did get an error and had to delete the most recent library.itl file. None of my music is showing in Itunes so I have to import it in.

I started having the Store issue, which ALWAYS showed and worked and never had trouble accessing or getting a blank page... that started happening. (always think live search when typing is a bad idea)

Seems some apps on my iPod, conflict with iTunes 10.5.

I had added back a few, by download and via iTunes, but next time I connected iPod, there was problem with iPod showing as a device, and with iTunes Store.

Removed the 4 apps I had added/reinstalled, and now back to normal.

I don't know if it was the combination or if it was Skype or photo retouch/editing or one of the others.

I use to have 4.1GB "Other" also and that is now a more comfortable 1.1GB of space.

Me thinks 10.5 and iOS 5.0 need a ".1" added! and apps need to be better tested to be certified.

NY Times "newstand" would not work on 4.3.5, or would but could not by synched, could not be moved to another iPod screen. So basically broken and may have led to other problems. These apps that work with iOS 5 but are not backward compatible, or the reverse situation, they aren't really 5.0 compatible.

- might want to use trial and error with some.

For me, I have to wait for Windows and iTunes to settle down, then connect iPod only. And when the iPod device would "vanish".

then the blank sreen is fix by fllwoing the insutcetions at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972034

After this my itunes store worked great and appale moble ran at about 2%

Ok, after NO HELP from Apple, I've finally fixed my issue thanks to those in this discussion. I used Microsoft Fixit to remove all Apple products. Then I ran the netsh winsock reset as an administrator. Here is where I found my issue, once I restarted my computer a message would pop-up stating the VLP or VLS or something was not configured correctly. As a good MS customer, I trusted this message to fix it. After weeks of frustration and re-installs I decided to click "No", don't fix the VLP thingy. I re-installed iTunes and guess what folks? I now have access to the iTunes Store!

Hope this helps someone else, because I had just about enough of non-help from Apple!

Tried it, didn't work. I have Windows Vista not Windows 7, but I did get the message that winsock had reset successfully.

So does everyone, in addition to not getting into the iTunes Store, have iTunes ask for your password every time you open the program?

This is SO annoying. And the Apple tech support person had the nerve to say it must be my internet connection - even though she directed me to this discussion thread! Boy, a lot of people's internet must be down...at the same time...who coincidentally all recently updated iTunes. Yup, couldn't be Apple's problem.

Well, when enough of us can't make purchases in the iTunes store, maybe they'll notice...
