installed itunes 10.5, no longer can connect to itunes store now?
Works fine for me, though that's obviously no comfort for you. Might be temporary. Have you tried the time old method of rebooting yet?
tt2
twice.
also removed all traces of 10.5 and reintsalled it.
same problem.
Same here. After install the 10.5 on my Windows 7, it get stuck while loading iTune Store and then throw me a blank page. I have tried to reboot, and also tried the complete remove iTune components and reinstalled again but it's still not working.

Are you running any of Symantec's (Norton) or McAfee's Internet security products or anything similar, or an antivirus/antispyware application? Some such utilities treat an upgrade to iTunes as a new application and can block the application from connecting. So you have to go in and reset the utility to allow iTunes.
The same thing can happen if you upgrade the security product (this has particularly been a problem with recent McAfee upgrades). Check the settings for your utility. If iTunes is still listed, remove and re-enable the exception for iTunes. Consult your utility's documentation for the appropriate procedure. If you have Norton, you can find instructions for that utility on Symantec's web page for iTunes. You may also need to check the built-in Windows firewall as well.
Hope this helps.
checked all that and ITunes is on the accepted list, so unfortunately that isn't it.
why is apple mobile device running at 50% all the time?
pretty frustrating...this always has gone so smoothly.
I have encountered the same problem once, that was the last update. I have followed the instructions to completely remove iTune and the reinstall and it did work. Unfortunately it isn't the case this time.
same problem for me - every time they "patch" it's the same issue. The solution for last time - uninstall everything apple and start again ahsn't worked this time grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Try removing iTunes from the "accepted" list in your utility and re-adding it. It's not uncommon for such utilities to block updates to an application the utility shows in as being in the list. Or temporarily disable your antivirus/antispyware/privacy utility as a test; if iTunes then connects, you know it's the utility that's blocking things.
Regards.
Good thought, but no luck, didn't work.
I am having the same issue Dave. Does not connect in 10.4.1 and 10.5 but did connect in 10.3. No norton or McAfee. Firewall shows iTunes as an exception but 10.5 diagnostics do not list the exception in the log.
Windows 7, 64 bit, no Anti-virus or firewall.
Same issue for me, iTunes store blank, 100% CPU, etc..
I had the same issue with the last update. Similar issue and results as conhk.
Check out this Apple document, it might be able to fix this for ya -> iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
whatheck,
Your link is broken. This is the correct link http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3297
Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, nobody in this thread has mentioned "error messages" we are reciveing blank pages (store connects but content is blank) and 50/100% CPU usage by apple mobile device
