Error 8288 when upgrading my first gen Ipod Touch to IOS 3.1.

well after emailing back and forth they just gave me a refund. Can't believe they can't even fix their own link. The download obviously doesn't work.

same problem here, just half an hour ago. Tried to upgrade 1st generation to IOS 3.1, and the same 8288 error, frustrating...

Having the same issue and have logged ticket with the Express lane. Guess now I should just request a refund since they seem to be dragging their feet on getting a solution to the problem.

DON'T restore the ipod or it will delete all applications and since all applications now really need the update I can't get any of the applications i have back. This is crazy that they don't have a fix for the issue.

Go through the express lane. Most likely it'll make you send an email to them. They'll tell you to do a bunch of stuff that doesn't work. If you keep emailing them they'll finally refund you.

I don't know what's going on. Obviously the update doesn't work if we are all experiencing this. They need to get on this as they're wasting our money!!

to solve error 8288 i have unistalled itunes 10.5 and installed itunes 10 and the download worked fine and now i have got apps on gen 1 ipod touch

I get the error in Itunes for mac. How can i uninstall this program?

It only works for itunes 10.3, so what you need to do is downgrade your itunes or find a computer that has an old version of the itunes

Yesss! Finally, with the Itunes 10.3 it really works.

I just got a new computer and obviously had to download itunes - the problem is, the download available was the 10.5 - so that is what I have running on my computer now. And it's the only version that has been on this computer, so I cannot downgrade.

Any suggestions on how I can get 10.3? so that I can get my download to work? Please help!
