iPhone 4 5.0 Upgrade 3200 Error
I am trying to upgrade a vanilla iPhone 4 to the 5.0 software and the process works fine and after the backup and extraction, I get the 3200 error. Any help on solving for my Mac OS Lion?

If you do not want it to constantly backup every time you hit the restore button put your device in DFU mode and save your self the trouble.
I tried about 5 times and I got it finally. It sounds like a server issue. It has nothing to do with security. Just keep trying.
This method I mentioned has got me up and running 😉

Ok this is a temporary fix what I found out,
First download the iPhone Firmware from the following site, It is the official firmware and even downloads from Apple.
http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ - Choose your model, e.g iPhone 4
Now once that is downloaded go to the following folder -
C:\Users\YOURUSER\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
Once you are they copy the file you just downloaded into it, then click Update. It will now skip the download process and will Update. I was having the same issue then I did this and its almost updated. Hope it helps 😉
Keep trying guys. It took me about 8 times to get it done. I did nothing special. Sorry if my English is not quite well 🙂
Mine wasnt working either, but then i did as apple says and plugged the cable into one of the back usb ports and it worked
its the only thing to do, retry, retry, retry...
Worked here too after 30 times or more.
its just server issue
Succes!!!
i just kept trying and finally it has worked! can't tell you how many times i tried, lost count a while ago....
yeah...i've got in germany the same problems. upgrade the iPhone 4 from my mom- it just works. updating my iPhone 4....Error3200 i think, i wait until tomorrow morning
Successful on 5rd try
To avoid Backup AGAIN and AGAIN after you successfully downloaded the 720Mb file AND backuped your ipad at least once:
1. Hold Left-Shift key and Click "Restore" button in iTunes
2. Look for the File: ussually in (Windows 7):
C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPad Software Updates
3. choose the file you downloaded and click OK
4. Keep trying step 1-3
My error 3200 is now error 3014...what does that even mean?
Know the feeling, 3GS & iPhone 4, both taking far too many attempts
ive got a 5000 code now anyone know what it is
Well my problem now isen't that it takes too many attempts cause I would just wait until all you Americans sleep, so I can update. However, when i now pull up the cable, it starts up, but show the "Plug into iTunes" display, and when I do it, it says that it found an iPhone ready to restore!? Don't know *** i have done...
