iPhone 4 5.0 Upgrade 3200 Error
I am trying to upgrade a vanilla iPhone 4 to the 5.0 software and the process works fine and after the backup and extraction, I get the 3200 error. Any help on solving for my Mac OS Lion?

I got the same problem. I thought it might be due to antivirus software. So i tried it in another laptop too. But it didn't help. Then I changed the USB port and it worked smoothly.
It seems like there are at least 3 connections made during the update process. I finally got past the first two, but now I'm consistently getting error 3004 when iTunes says it's updating the iPhone's firmware. Anyone know for sure how many verification connections the restore process does during the course of restoration?
On itunes go to edit, prefrences, devices, and find your device and delete the back up. then start the update over.
THIS WORKS ABSOLUTELY!!!
Tried this.
Did not work for me... Just got the 3004 instead of 3200
Sorry, but that does not work absolutely. I did this a half hour ago and it did not help. Also, everyone needs to be careful AFTER doing this. Everytime you try to update, you think the backup is being done, but then after the error, they backup IS NOT THERE. If you then try to do a update using the Shift-Update button, you won't have a backup to restore from on the new software. If you deleted your backup, be sure to just SYNC your phone first WITHOUT the update. It will make a brand new backup. Then keep trying Shift-Update, find the update software on your computer that you downloaded and try to update. I've tried at least 20 times so far and errors, so I am giving up for now and will try again later. Just make sure your Backup is still there if you deleted it to try this method.
now there are several codes ive got 3014 and 3004 and 3200 or you will get that apple servers are offline and that you cant connect
I've rebooted, updated my windows, restarted my phone, disabled the firewall on my system, and now, trying for the 10th time. :/ Guess I'm really unlucky.
I'm on attempt #15 right now. I'm also consistently getting error 3004 when iTunes says it's updating the iPhone's firmware. My backup is data has disappeared. Thanks Apple.
10 attempts with 1 iPad
15 attempts with another iPad
25 attempts with my iPhone
been trying since 1:00pm ET.
What the ****, Apple? Steve woudn't be proud. Great way to kick off a new era.
Well it finally worked for me after 18 tries. Just keep trying until it works.
I keep getting the error 3194. Has anyone else had this problem or know how I can overcome it please?
Thanks
So I'm on attempt #19... Been trying for AGES. Had various errors, 3200, 3004, 3014 and probably some more, usually at about 3/4 of the way through. Getting fed up with it.
I'm on try 25 during the last 4 hours. 😟 still no luck yet...
YES! I'm rocking iOS5!!!
