iOS 5 Breaks Bluetooth Connectivity with my Clarion FZ709

When I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 5, blueooth connectivity with my Clarion FZ709 car stereo no longer works. The phone and stereo will discover each other fine but when the phone connects it drops the connection after 2 seconds. Attempting to reconnect has the same results.

Undiscovering and rediscovering doesn't work either.

I actually submitted a bug for this months ago. I did communicate back and forth with apple and got it diagnosed. Unfortunately, they told me it was a known bug and closed my ticket as a duplicate. I'm not able to see the other bug to find out its progress which kind of *****. With each new beta I tried again only to see it still failing. Based off the Bluetooth codes I was seeing in the logs, it looks like the receiver sends some codes to the phone which were not understood, and for some reason it decides to disconnect instead of ignoring. Hopefully they'll fix this soon. Pretty annoying that you can't use the Bluetooth already in your car.

Until recently, I found Iphone was so bad even I tried to send pictures to my friends Galaxy Nexus through Bluetooth. 2 phones were connected initially and finally disconnected after I had have several attemps and gave me the same result. I know 4s is using 4.0 Bluetooth, and 4.0 Bluetooth is backward compatible. But why this

i-produce doesn't work???? or Apple does any restriction on it? And I also read the manual about the bluetooth on iphones. it seems they only support some i-devices.If I am wrong, correct me. But totally I am disppointted at this product now.

It's kind of funny how this works.

I have a 2012 Pioneer deck installed in my Honda that has bluetooth. It works with my 4S and my 3GS in all functions including iPod/bluetooth/Bluetooth Music. That deck also works with my 2008 iPod Classic 160GB. It does not work with my 30GB iPod Photo, deck simply says USB: NO when I connect it and the battery won't charge. This deck was $149.

In my Chevy, I have a Pioneer DVD with a video touchscreen from 2008. It doesn't have bluetooth because I wasn't interested in it back then. That deck works with anything I plug into it to play music using the dock connector. I can connect my 30GB iPod Photo from 2004, it works and displays the song info on the decks screen with no problems. I can plug in my iPod Classic and use every function on it. I can plug in my 3GS and use it the same way but the battery won't charge. I can plug in my 4S and use it the same way with music but the battery won't charge. It doesn't matter about the battery not charging because I can still play my music using it and control the music using the on screen controls. Even videos that I have on the phone can be played on my decks screen. This deck was $599.

I never bothered to order the bluetooth device for this deck but I wish I had now.
