iOS 5 set up. Stuck on "Find my iPhone"

Just got done talking with Apple essentially there are to many people trying to update and you are being shut out. They suggested waiting until night ...late night. Hope it works out because I have been trying all afternoon to get this. 😢

I just powered off and on again and it seems to be ok now

Check your email you should have received an email saying "

Please verify the contact email address for your Apple ID."

also powering off also works.

Yes power off, then check your settings, look under the new icloud setting to see if Find My iPhone is on or off.

this happend to me too. i just had to wait a few minutes (less than 10) and it eventually went through. hope that helps!

I had the same problem yesterday... The Phone's UI suggested that the upgrade was successful but then had just a few settings to set before being ready to use... and I got stuck hitting "Next" with no success...

Over the phone, the applecare folks suggested that I power-off the phone and restart... I did the hold-both-buttons reboot... and when the phone restarted it asked some questions again but this time I did not get stuck! My Notes and passwords etc. were all in place, though the phone and iTunes didn't fully carry over my media configs (which movies and music to sync).

I wound up getting the "this phone was interrupted in the middle of a restore" message and I hit "Cancel"... then I simply sync'd the media to observe that everything was OK.

Eventually, once the phone was operational I took the plunge and upon again seeing the "restore interruped" dialog I finally chose to "delete backup" on the backup from pre-upgrade.

I was nowhere near the seemless experience that previous upgrades have been, but all is OK now.

I have the same issues but cant restart my phone because my power button is malfunctioning...any other tips??

I started my upgrading process at 9pm last night and finally was all set by 1130. I thought and still think it was because of my older computer. I like the upgrade so far.

Same problem as you. Started at around 9.00am this morning (14 Oct) and been stuck on "Find My iPhone" for around 90 minutes. Switching on and off does not help.

Think I will leave for a while following comments from others but could have be warned as my phone is now completely out of action and is costing my company as I unable to do my work effectively.

I had same problem, waited for iPhone to sync with itunes, then powered off and it worked perfectly.

I'm having the same issue. Its been 3 hours and is still stuck on "Find My iPhone" and I'm leaving the house for the day without my phone. I hope its done when I get back. My iTunes sync has also been stuck on "step 2 of 6 - backing up" and the bar is at 100%.It took all night just to get this far with OIS 5 install, eventually backed-up and installed IOS 5 on my iPhone but is now stuck in this setup process. If my iPhone setup ever completes will it take this long to sync & back-up every time I connect? I sure hope not! Any advise?

Ok, I ended up powering off the phone, and rebooting my computer and iTunes, and now everything if working well and syncing step is back to normal time.
