yes they will replace it because all they see is that it has a fault theyl try to restore it for you but obviuosly it wont work n they will replace it!!
Reflashing the baseband worked for me after multiple attempts. Just make sure you have the latest version of RedSnow and also make sure that you tick the 'Deactivate' checkmark where you tick the Install iPad baseband option. You will be all set. I did this with the stock firmware and the only problem I have now is that my mail and safari app doesn't work at all. If anyone has the solution for this let us know. Cheers to all!
Same result here on a 3GS; Mail and Safari are not working
- Mail just displays a blank, white screen
- Safari crashes back to main screen after launch
Anyone?
Yeah, if anyone has a solution to this please let us know. I am using the Dolphin browser as of now instead of safari and a different mailing browser.
If you just use RS as before but choose only Boot Tethered, and try again following the standard DFU boot thing, all should be well with the world!
Somehow it ain't JB.as it reboots just fine, but for some reason this is a quirk of the fix. Until a more permanent solution is found.

My Safari and Mail work fine now. However, I've got a problem with iMessage.
It seems like it doesn't work after reflashing the baseband.
Any idea?
What problem do you have with iMessage? My mail and safari work fine now.
Before reflashing baseband, I used the Call back & Home Button medthod to get through the activation. Everything worked fine, but my phone could not recognize the sim card. Therefore, I have to use wifi,
and iMessage worked great at this time.
After reflasing baseband, I tried to text, but iMessage doesn't work as before. It can only
text as SMS even I text to the guy who is using iOS 5.
Has someone done it to put the backup on the device? My iPhone stuck when i tried to restore my backup.
Ok im going to apple store today got an appointment 13:50 as my wife's 3gs was messed up due to IOS 5 update (nos singnal and wont activate.)
Keep your eyes on this will update on return Birmingham apple store uk.
May even record the exp if i remember
To be honest I have the same issue but just thought there was an issue with Apples servers that handle the ID side of things. I haven't had it working except sending iMessages to myself on the same handset. Would be keen to hear others experiences on this!
My closest apple store is like 90 mile away, ill wait to see what you say after being there. Does anyone think if i phoned they would tell me if they would replace my phone, i dont want a wasted journey driving all that way for nothing.
Alright, I got Safari and Mail working again, using the "boot tethered" in RS, as described above. I don't have any contacts using iMessage yet, so haven't tested it.
To summarize:
Any joy with this? what did they say?
