Well, for me it does sync. I can delete a photo in my updated iPhone, and it doesn't show any more in the other device.
I think that the issue is - the photos added to photostream before the upgrade have to be removed manually. Best of all, resetting the photostream on all devices. But after that it does what you long. I believe Apple has done it right
Here is what I do
- I copy 2 photos from my iPhoto on the mac to the photostream
- after seconds, they show up on my iPhone (in the Photostream folder)
- i select one on the iPhone
- I delete it on the iPhone - there it disappears immediately form the photostream folder
- after seconds it disappears from the photostream folder of iPhoto on my mac
Isn't this what you call sync? From my point of view I think that sync works, although you have to find out the way (I suggest one way above - the one I have used) to get rid of the old photostream pictures
