Delete single photos in photostream

How do I delete one og more pictures from photostream?

I've already found out that I can delete my entire photostream "library".

But it should be possible to mark and delete 1 or more photos.

Does anybody know how to do that?

If it's not possible: APPLE pls. fix it 🙂

Thanks

Bingo, now it's gone.....

It's magic....because now it's back.

My husband took a naughty pic of me

I have deleted from EVERYONE's photostream, but it keeps getting repushed/resynced.

It's a nightmare. It's like someone stole a naughty pic and keeps sending it out.

The only thing to be grateful about is that it's the top half rather than the bottom half, if ya know what I mean!

Alright I've tried everything to delete my photos from photostream. The photos are only on my mac but I can't delete them. I've done everything apple has told me; updated all devices, select photo and press delete, drag to trash, tap trash, right click and delete, everything. Can someone please help me out this is just not working.

I did it. I deleted the the Photo Stream album from my iphone. I don't think there is a particular order to what I did but I tried everything I could think of and it worked. First I removed icloud from my pc control panel, moved the pictures in the photo stream folders to another folder so I won't lose them, deleted the photo stream folders on my pc, went on my icloud account on line and reset my photos stream (details : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4890) , then went to my iphone and turned off then on my photo stream options. That didn't delete the album photo stream from my iphone until I plugged my iphone into my pc which it automatically starts itunes and it removed it all during the syncing process. Yeeehaw!

Now, remember to back up any photos you don't want to lose, because itunes cleared it all. Which was ok for me because I didn't have many to begin with.

good luck

Theres an option to edit/ remove individual photos from showing up on photostream screensaver on apple TV. This option is not found on the apple TV settings page. Go to main home screen on apple TV, select photo stream icon which can be found under 'trailers' icon, select 'My Photo Stream', select photo to remove and press and hold down center button on Apple TV remote, you will see pop up to delete photo, select.

Select button is the silver circle in the middle of the remote. You have to press and hold it down for the 'delete' pop up to show up.

As of today, 16 December, 2012...

I am posting this reply because I AM able to delete one photo from Photostream. I just did it.

I do not understand why this is an issue for people or why it does not work for you. I joined this thread over a year ago. Apple seemed to have fixed the problem... at least what they did worked for me... and I am NOT a technically savvy person. I just do what seems logical.

I just went to Photostream on my iPad. I deleted one photo, and it was deleted from Photostream on my MacBook Pro and on my iPhone.

I just went to Photostream on my MacBook Pro, and I deleted one photo in Photostream in iPhoto, and it deleted it on Photostream on my iPad and iPhone.

I just went to Photostream on my iPhone, and I deleted one photo that was also then deleted from Photostream on my MacBook Pro and iPad.

Good luck everyone. Maybe people are not really having this problem but just like to talk to other people. I don't get it. I think I will unsubscribe from this thread now.

I think the point here is the UI is failing. In iPhoto there is no delete Icon. If you select a photo and then click the Delete key on your keyboard nothing happens. There is no right click mouseClick command associated with delele in iPhoto and the trash icon in the left navbar is inactive during this process. All the methods I just described are ubiquitous industry standards with software. So how did you delete one photo from Photo Stream within iPhoto on your Macbook Pro. In other words tell us what you did step by step as if you were writing user story for a developer in a SCRUM invironment.

1. I opened iPhoto

2. I clicked Photo Stream in the left navbar.

3. I browsed my photos till I found the image I wanted to delete.

4. I selected that photo

5. A yellow line appeard around the image to confirm it was selected.

(THEN WHAT DID YOU DO?)

Mean while you don't have to have a Computer Science Degree to do this in Picassa, Flickr or Dropbox. It very intuitive

I am very glad to see your Reply to my message. I just deleted a photo from Photo Stream on my MacBook Pro. Here is how I did it:

1. I opened iPhoto.

2. I clicked Photo Stream in the left navbar.

3. I decided which photo I would delete. It was right in front of me.

4. I clicked on that photo and selected it.

5. The yellow line appeared around the edge of the photo I had selected (showing that it was selected).

6. I hit the delete button on my keyboard.*

7. A message came up that said: This message will be removed from Photo Stream. (I was given the opportunity to Cancel or Delete Photo. - See attached)

User uploaded file

8. I selected Delete Photo, and the picture was deleted.

My MacBook Pro is using OS X version 10.8.2.

iPhoto is in my Application Folder. It is version 9.4.2

*Because of what you wrote, it seems that you are not able to use your delete key on your keyboard the way I am able to use mine, and therein lies the problem. I sincerely hope whatever I have said here helps.

Congratulations! You have working applications/programs/whatever we decide to call them

I am a Windows Vista user and the Photo Stream never gets updated anymore. No photos uploaded or downloaded from Vista PC. All functions well with iPad (the second generation) I have no iPhones or Apple TVs.

iCloud for me is just another xenophobic implementation.

I am actually quite surprised that iTunes is still working on my PC and fear every update sent.

Thank you for filling in all the steps. I just tried this again on my MacBook Pro with no success. I also tried it on my wife's Macbook Air and hitting the delete button when the photo in iPhoto is selected within the Photo Stream folder does nothing unfortunately. These laptops are less than a year old and I updated iPhoto to the most recent version on Friday, December 14, 2012.

Thank you thank you...for stating my exact problem step by step. My initial question was how to delete a photo from my photostream on my imac. I have no trouble deleting from my iphone4 ....and the prompt tells me that it will be deleted from my computer, too....But it does NOT delete from my computer...(Imac 10.7.5; Iphoto 9.2.1)

When I go to my iphoto on imac, and then my photostream, it will NOT delete. I've tried everything. I assumed since the photos on my photostream on iphone automatically go to my computer, then if I delete from my iphone, the same will happen on my imac. (I am even prompted that this will happen)...I thought the iphone and imac were in sync with each other. I do have icloud and I read in some of the replies that I can do something with icloud (turn off, then on?) to make this work. However, since I am a novice tech-person, I am afraid to mess with that. Have you found a way to solve this?
