How to upload a document to iCloud from Mac?

Hi. I have successfully shifted my MobileMe data to iCloud. Hurrah. I am intrigued by having the documents "up there" and synced to all my devices. My question is this: is it possible to upload a document from my Mac, so I can later work on it on my iPad? If so, how do I do it? Thanks for any hints that you may provide.

Whatever documentation I have seen seems to show how to upload a document using iOS, but what about from my iMac?

iPhone 3GS, iOS 4.3.3

Hi John,

For whatever worth, you need only to purchase one copy of the App, so long you are using the same Apple account / ID on your IOS - iPhone / iPad, and Mac computers.

It works for me.

Having said that, why wasting time and tormenting yourself if MS or Google etc works seamlessly ?

Seems the folks in Apple for this type of software development are totallly different to those design the physical machines from Apple which do works.

For example, in their documentation of iCould, it is clearly define PDF format documents are amount the available formats, but guess what ......

All the best.

I think Dropbox is best for keeping all your documents current on all your devices. I use a MacBook which sits on my desk, a MacBook Air which I carry around and iPhone 3gs. I have dropbox on all. I keep most of the folders and docuemnts I am working with in Dropbox folder, all downloads are also saved in Download folder in Dropbox. In this way I can open any file on any of my devices. On the iPhone I normally only read the documents on the other two I can modify and work on them. I find this very convenient. Saves the hassle of going through all the steps sugested in the previos posts. With Documents to Go documets can also be edited on the iPhone and iPad.

iPorgie, sorry for the late response, but as I said I,ve all but given up on icloud. however I am now in the process of clearing out my mobileme account as it is not going to be available after June, hence I,m in here checking out other stuff like my iweb files etc.

Anyway, your wrong about 1 purchase per Apple ID. The mobile devices Appps are different to the desktop/laptop versions, and are different prices, the desktop versions being more expensive than the mobile devices apps.

I have also found it quite frustrating when I buy an app on my phone that says it will work on my Ipad, only to find that the ipad needs a different more expensive app. It is misleading to say the least and sharp practice, for Apple to allow this as a business model. I have stopped buying these apps on that basis and will only buy apps that I know absolutely work across all the platforms. I used to buy apps kind of willy nilly, but not anymore, and again as usual complaining to apple or the app developer is pointless.

One thing I keep in my armoury is my ability to write a negative review of the app, and the developers don,t like that, but Hey you rip me off, I try my hardest to get you back. While I am on this, I discovered that the reviews do not appear on the worldwide app store, they only appear in the country of origin of the apple id. This tells me that apple actively sat down and considered this as an appropriate action to treat its customers with. UNBELIEVABLE for a global company, that would end up deciding to localise its customers opinions of a third parties products. Absolute proof that apples first priority is profit margins, and not customer satisfaction.
