How to remove Newsstand from iPhone?

I get it -- it's a "folder" so we can't put it in t another folder, thereby getting it out of the way. But I won't be using it (just like I don't use Gamecenter), and I resent having it take up space at the top level nav. Fail.

So how do we remove Newsstand from the iphone (or other ios5 device)?

False. This is a support community. Not a support question and answer. The people with high post counts on this board are full of useless common sense that the average person already knows. A board like this is user to user attempting to "support" someone. Not to flame thread saying you guys are idiots we already told you no. Grow up we aren't in kindergarten or the stone ages.

If you buy a product you expect it to work the way you want. My 2002 MINI Cooper S to me is almost perfection. Now given we paid $27,XXX in 2002 for it, but everything I want and need it to do it will and then some. I can adjust all sorts of things and customize anything I want about the car freely. Now why is it that I buy a phone in 2011 and I can't even get it in orange or red(thank you zeetron :) ) and customize the actual internal appearance I want. Windows 3.0 had more flipping customobility than any iOS to date, so long as it is not opened.

Hiding it or ignoring it is fighting ignorance with ignorance. It doesn't solve the problem and it still gets in the way. I had a beautiful 3 folder system till iOS 5 came out and now I am currently trying to downgrade back to 4.3.3.

It is forcing something onto a consumer attempting to make them buy more items. If you open a phone look for something called NoNewsIsGoodNews and you will never have to worry again like me :) now as for reminders, voice memos, stocks and such we are still SOL.

Completely False. It should work the way it's designed.

Two key words there... "to me". I'm sure there are many others that would disagree. That includes me because a Mini was too small when I looked at one in 2003. I bought a VW diesel instead.

WE CANT CHANGE ANYTHING!!! WE ONLY PROVIDE ANSWERS!!! If the answer is no, and has always been no, and we have no way of changing it, we will call people idiots who get upset with us for simply answering the correct answer to something we don't have control over. Asking the same question over and over and hoping for a different answer is the definition of either idiocy or insanity... What do you expect us to do? Whip out our iPhones and call up Tim Cook who we all have on speed dial and know on a first name, beer drinking buddy basis?

Assuming you can read, maybe you should do so before saying "false." You agreed to the terms of use before

Entering these forums. They clearly state:

Post constructive comments and questions. Unless otherwise noted, your Submission should either be a technical support question or a technical support answer. Constructive feedback about product features is welcome as well. If your Submission contains the phrase "I'm sorry for the rant, but…" you are likely in violation of this policy.

Good God People -- STFU!

I started this thread -- the answer (hack though it was) was posted later that day. It worked until it didn't anymore... so be it.

Does this UI/UX issue bother people? Yes. Does it not bother other people: Yes. Are the people it bothers wrong to be bothered by it? No. Are the people who are not bothered by it right to tell the others they are wrong for being bothered by it? No.

Now, everyone go on to some meaningful pursuit that doesn't annoy everyone else.

Moderators? Can you please shut this nonesense down?

Thanks,
