No iCloud on Snow Leopard? THIS IS A JOKE, APPLE!

Right now I'm thinking about leaving Apple products behind for good. So I can't use iCloud on Snow Leopard (which is not that old)? Meaning my syncing (contacts, bookmarks, calendars etc.) will just stop when they shut down MobileMe in 2012?

GREAT WAY TO DEAL WITH YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS, APPLE!

I can't update to Lion (various reasons). So now what? Dump the crap Macbook+iMac+iPhone in the toilet? Should be a great idea!

VERY PROFESSIONAL, CONGRATULATIONS!

Btw to "Klimbakat" : Office 2004 has been made initially for OSX 10.2.x, that was in 2002/2003. Running such antiqe software in 2011 is just ridiculous. Microsoft is fully Intel compatible since 2007. You had 4 years to already upgrade it at least to that version named "2008", which runs fine in Lion.

I don't use Excel myself but I be belave the issue is computability with the macros in VB that the newer versions of Mac Excel does not have.

I know my partner keeps an old PowerPC version of Office due to be compatible with the files she gets.

If Macs are going to play well in mixed environments they need to be able to open and save back to whatever is needed and often that is old file formats or old discontinued software.

The issue is that Office 2004 is PPC code, Office 2008 and 2011 are not PPC and will run on Lion.

That is correct and this is why older Macs that can run PowerPC code need to be supported.

It's that or forcing Mac users to go out and buy a Windows box or at least a copy of Windows to run in emulation.

It goes beyond that though. In print production programs like Freehand and FrameMaker files still need to be opened on their native applications. Macs that can run PowerPC code either natively or through Rosetta will be needed for a long time.

So what!!! Are you going to put MichaelLax as "B" in the "Human CentiPad?" because of violation of a license issue?

How about millions of customers getting violated!!!

I mean poop man! We are all trying to find a work-around from completey "stuffed" over!!!

We have to be creative..its what Apple has been teaching us for years!

SO that's what you get. Creative solutions by smart users!

Get er done!

I agree with you.

For ages this kind of behaviour from Microsoft was strongly critizised.

Now Apple does the same. What is worst, it does it know when every single cent is very hard to spent.

I was an old PC user and till today I've been very happy with my apple hardware and software. Till today.

I expect apple "big brains" consider this and try te get a fair solution for everybody.

I want my Mac hardware and mac applications running smooth. If not, at least leave the chance to be able to choose if move to the new or keep to the old.

I want to be back to my mobileme. I want to be able to sycn everything without problems and I want my mail back at my Iphone 3G.

I do not want to by a new Ipohne4, neither to upgrade memory cards on my iMac in order to move to the nasty iCloud. I want the oportunity to decide to move to the new, to keep on the old or to go back to the new.

It seems rather apparent to me now that the primary purpose of Lion is as a sales platform for Apple products and services, of which iCloud is one (for the purpose of selling iTunes products). There is nothing I like about Lion better than Snow Leopard. I regret "upgrading." I liked MobileMe better than I like iCloud, but not upgrading makes no difference in that regard. Apple will be pulling the plug on MobileMe for good next June. Greed.
